Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam St. at Seymour, Tonawanda, where Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday. Friends invited.     Charles Archer, aged 60, passed
    away early Sunday morning, Sept.
    24 at the Lakeside Memorial Hospital,
    Brockport. He war taken ill
    while at work in a field on his farm
    on the LaDue Rd. Saturday afternoon
    and was rushed to the hospital.
    He was a member of Holley Lodge
    No. 42, I.O.O.F.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura
    Kimball Archer; one son, Howard
    Archer of Tonawanda; one daughter,
    Mrs. Alfred Ruger of Holley; five
    grandchildren, Joyce and Judy Ruger,
    and Ronnie, Elaine, and Marilyn
    Archer; one sister, Miss Mabel Arch-
    er of Albion; and one brother, Har-
    ry Archer of Spencerport.
    Funeral services were held at the
    Merrill Funeral Home in this village
    yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at
    two o'clock and interment was made
    in Hillside Cemetery.

    HOLLEY - Laura E. Archer, 93,
    of Holley, died Sunday in the
    Orleans County Nursing Home following
    a long illness.
    She was bom in Clarendon and
    was a member of the Universalist
    Church of Clarendon. She was
    widow of the late Charles Archer.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs
    Alfred (Clara) Ruger of Holley; six
    g r a n d c h i l d r e n ; 15 greatgrandchildren,
    and Tour""great-great-'
    grandchildren.
    Private services will be held at the
    convenience of the family. Interment
    will be in Hillside Cemetery.
    Arrangements were made through
    Mcrrill-Grinnen Funeral Home of
    Holley.

    A very pretty informal wedding occurred
    at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
    Geo. E. Mepsted of Clarendon, N. Y.,
    Wednesday afternoon, September 24,
    1913, when their only daughter, Miss
    Laura E. Kimball, was united in marriage
    to Mr. Charles Archer, elder son of
    Mr. snd Mrs. James Archer, also of
    Clarendon.
    The ceremony, which was witnessed
    by about 28 invited guests, including
    the immediate relatives of the contracting
    parties, and a few intimate friends,
    was performed by Rev. L. H. Robinson
    of Richfield Springs, N. Y., former pastor
    of the Universalist church of Clarendon,
    and a close friend of the bride
    and groom.
    Promptly at 3 o'clock the bridal
    couple, following a beautifully played
    selection from Hoffman, with Miss
    Shirley Ventress at the organ, took
    their places unattended under an arch
    of evergreens and golden rod, with
    which the room was tastefully decorated,
    and responded to the ring service,
    the same ring being used with which
    the bride's parents were united nearly
    24 years previous.
    After the bride and groom had re
    ceived the hearty congratulations and
    good wishes of those present, a delicious
    dinner was served, with Mrs.
    Adelbert O. Mower as cateress, and
    Miss Shirley L. Ventress and Miss
    Olive A. Snyder as waitresses. The
    dining room and bride's table, where
    covers were laid for 14, were decorated
    in shell-pink, green and white, asters
    being the flowers used.
    The bride was simply gowned In
    white embroidered voile over white
    Swiss, and her traveling costume was
    of navy blue serge, with white hat and
    gloves.
    They left at 4:30 amid a shower of
    rice and merriment for Lockport, .Niagara
    Falls and Buffalo, returning after
    a few days to reside at the home of
    the groom in East Clarendon, which is
    being repaired and redecorated for
    their occupancy, and where they will
    be at home to their friends after November
    16.
    The bride received many useful and
    beautiful gifts at the wedding, including
    a Iarge quantity of table silver
    were, linen, bedding and other articles,
    also many handsome pieces of linen at
    a shower given by Mrs. Ruth Coleman
    on Wednesday evening, September 17,
    A china shower was also given in her
    honor by Misses Grace A. Turner and
    Shirley L. Ventress, at the home of the
    former Friday evening, September 19,
    which was most successful socially,
    and at which the gifts to the guest of
    honor were many and beautiful.
    The best wishes of many friends go
    with Mr. and Mrs. Archer, on their life
    journey

    The will of James Archer, who
    died In Murray Dec. 4, 1938 leaving
    an estate of $6,850, was admitted to
    probate upon the petition of a
    daughter, Mabel Archer, Holley,
    named executrix. With her brother,
    Charles Archer, she shares a farm
    of 247 acres in Clarendon and inherits
    the residue of the estate,
    Including a house at 7 Hlckey
    Street, Holley, and another brother,
    Harry Archer, is left another 34
    acres of land in Clarendon.

    James married LANE, Hannah on 17 May 1886 in Orson, Nottinghamshire, England. Hannah was born on 14 Jun 1866 in England; died on 20 Feb 1929 in Town of Clarendon, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mrs. Hannah Lane Archer passed
    away at the family home on Hickey
    Street on Wednesday, February' 20,
    after an illness of several months.
    She was born in England June 14,
    j 1866, and had resided in this vicinity
    'for the past forty years. On May 17,
    1866, she was married at Orson, Nottinghamshire,
    to James Archer. In
    1888 they came to this country and
    spent the first summer in Rochester,
    coming to Clarendon in the fall.
    Besides her husband she leaves two
    sons, Charles and Harry Archer of
    Clarendon, and one daughter, Miss
    Mabel Archer of Holley; one sister,
    Mrs. Thomas Atkins of Holley and
    one brother, John Lane of Rochester
    Two daughters, Ada and Lizzie,
    passed away several years ago.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30,
    Rev. L. H. Robinson, pastor of the
    Pullman Memorial Universalist
    church of Alvion, officiating. Inter-
    ment at Hillside cemetery.
