ARENZ - LeGrand H. Arenz.
57, formerly of Tonawanda,
Thursday (Oct. 26, 1972) in
Buffalo after a long illness. A
resident of Tonawanda for the
greater part of his life, Mr.
Arenz had been employed by the
Bell-Aerospace Co. for more
than 25 years before retiring
due to illness.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Harriet (nee Doyle)
Arenz; a son, Robert Arenz of
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two
daughters, Mrs. Glen (Judith)
Shephard of Grand Island, N.Y.,
and Mrs. James (Sharon)
Malone of Euclid, Ohio; an
uncle, Howard Arenz of Tonawanda.
also surviving are three
grandchildren and several
cousins.
The family will be present
from 24 and 7-9 p.m., at the
Hamp Funeral Home, Inc.,
Adam and Seymour Streets,
Tonawanda, where services
will be conducted at 2- p.m.
Saturday afternoon, the Rev.
Claude Bicheler officiating.
Interment in Elmlawn
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions to the
American Cancer Society are
preferred by the family.

ARENZ - Elmer L. Arenz, 84,
of 15 Adam St., Tonawanda,
died Friday (Nov. 24, 1967) in
Buffalo General Hospital after a
long illness.
Born in Getzville, N.Y., Mr.
Arenz resided in Tonawanda for
the greater part of his life and
was a former painting contractor..
In his later years, he man-
aged the Arenz Apartments in
Tonawanda.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian
E. (nee Sahs); a son, LeGrand
H. Arenz of Buffalo; three
grandchildren; two great-grand-
children and two brothers. Er-
vin Arenz of DeBary, Fla., and
Howard Arenz of Tonawanda.
The family will be present
from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the
Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Adam-
Seymour Streets, Tonawanda,
where services will be conduct-
ed at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The
Rev. Karl H. A. Rest of Salem
United Church of Christ will of-
ficiate. Bufial will be in Elmlawn
Cemetery.

(nee Sahs), 88, formerly of
Tonawanda Tuesday evening
(June 22, 1971) at Georgian
Court Nursing Home, Buffalo,
after a long illness. A native of
Tonawanda, she was a member
of Salem United Church of
Christ and was the wife of
Elmer L. Arenz, who died in
1967.
She is survived by a son,
LeGrand H. Arenz of Buffalo;
two granddaughters, Mrs.
Judith Shephard of North Tonawanda
and Mrs. Sharon Malone
of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandson,
Robert L. Arenz of Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla., and three
great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at John O. Roth
Funeral Home, Morgan and
William Streets, Tonawanda,
where services will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by
the Rev. Karl H.A. Rest. Burial
will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.

DOYLE - Mrs. Rose L. Doyle,
75, died at Seminole Memorial
Hospital on Wednesday (Aug. 5).
Born in Tonawanda on April 2,
1890, she made her home in Os-
teen, Fla., for the past 40 years.
She was the wife of the late Wil-
liam L. Doyle Sr. Surviving are
three children, Mrs. Leslie°Bur-
gess and Mrs. Harriet Arenz
both of Tonawanda and William
J. Doyle Jr. of Daytona Beach,
Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia
Barnes of North Tonawanda and
Mrs. Herbert Ensminger of Ton-
awanda; three brothers, Paul
Wankosky of Tonawanda, Edwin Tonawanda. Friends may call at
Wankosky of Buffalo, and Wil-
liam Wankosky of Osteen, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at
3 p.m. Saturday at the Brisson
Funeral Home in Sanford, Fla.

Louis C. Arenz, 88, of 61 Highland
avenue, former alderman and
well known painting contractor of
Tonawanda many years, died this
morning at 237 Linwood avenue,
Buffalo, this morning.
Mr. Arenz was born in the town
of Amherst and has lived in the
city of Tonawanda the past 54
years. He is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. William Thuersam of
Tonawanda; five sons, Walter of
the town of Amherst, LeRoy of
North Tonawanda, Elmer, Ervin
and Howard of Tonawanda; five
grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services wfll be held
Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hamp
Funeral Home, 37 Adam street.
The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel will
officiate and interment will be in
Elmlawn.

Louis married Elizabeth about 1878. Elizabeth was born in Jan 1861 in New York; died on 6 Jan 1920 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The body of Mrs. Augusta Karkau,
70 years old, a former resident of
North Tonawanda. will arrive here this
evening from Sanford, Fla., where she
d i e d Thursday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. William J. Doyle, where
she had been living the past year.
Rites will be held Tuesday afternoon
at 2:30 o'clock from the home of an-
other daughter, Mrs. Amelia Baker,
2 2 5 Miller street. Burial will be in
St. Matthew's cemetery. Mrs. Karkau
was bom in Germany. For 40 years
she resided in North Tonawanda. Besides
the two daughters named she
leaves a third daughter, Mrs. Herbert
Ensminger, Tonawanda; three sons,
Paul, William and Edwin Wankasky,
all of North Tonawanda, and 12
grandchildren survive.
