    wedding will take place in the
    near future.

    Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Arenz of
    42 Highland avenue, announce the
    marriage of their daughter, Josephine
    to Mr. John Letfin, son of
    Mrs. H. Mann of Niagara street
    which was solemnized Saturday,
    October 5 in the parsonage of the
    Salem Evangelical and Reformed
    church, the Rev, Walter F. Hetzel
    officiating.
    The bride wore a fur trimmed
    gown of soldier blue with winter
    berry accessories and a corsage
    of gardenias. The attendants were
    Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coe of Buffalo,
    Mrs. Coe wearing a gown of
    winter berry with matching accessories
    and a corsage of gardenias.
    Mrs. Arenz, the mother of the
    bride, was attired in navy blue
    with white accessories and also
    wore a corsage of gardenias.
    Following the ceremony a dinner
    was given at the home of
    the bride's parents, the bride's
    table, over which was suspended
    a large wedding bell, being centered
    with a three tiered wedding
    cake, topped with a miniature
    bride and groom. In the evening,
    a reception was given for a large
    number of relatives and friends.
    The house decorations were in pink
    and white.
    Mr. and Mrs. Letfin have left
    for a wedding trip to the Thousand
    Islands and after October 10
    will make their home in Adam
    street.

    Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Arenz were
    honor guests at a surprise party
    Friday evening at their home in
    38 Highland avenue, the occasion
    being their twenty-fifth wedding
    anniversary. The guests included
    twenty-eight r e l a t e s and friends
    and cards provided the entertainment.
    Refreshments were served
    from a lace covered table centered
    with a large gift wedding
    cake decorated in silver and
    adorned with a miniature bride
    and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Arenz
    were also presented with a beautiful
    lamp and gifts of flowers.
    Among those present were Mr.
    and Mrs. John Loewer, Mr. and
    Mrs. Arthur Speller and Mr and
    Mrs. Francis May of; Buffalo,
    and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hayes of
    Niagara Falls.

    Louis C. Arenz, 88, of 61 Highland
    avenue, former alderman and
    well known painting contractor of
    Tonawanda many years, died this
    morning at 237 Linwood avenue,
    Buffalo, this morning.
    Mr. Arenz was born in the town
    of Amherst and has lived in the
    city of Tonawanda the past 54
    years. He is survived by a daughter,
    Mrs. William Thuersam of
    Tonawanda; five sons, Walter of
    the town of Amherst, LeRoy of
    North Tonawanda, Elmer, Ervin
    and Howard of Tonawanda; five
    grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    Funeral services wfll be held
    Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hamp
    Funeral Home, 37 Adam street.
    The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel will
    officiate and interment will be in
    Elmlawn.
