Several pre-nuptial affairs have been
given in honor of Miss Lucile Arnold,
whose marriage to Vernon Bateman
takes place on March first. Mrs. Clark
Aldrich delightfully entertained at her
Home on Thursday afternoon at a show-
er for Miss Arnold. On Saturday after-
noon, Miss Mabel Feathertsone also
gave. a kitchen shower for the bride-
elect, at the former's home In Lake'
Road Miss Arnold was the guest of
honor at a third shower, given by, the
Mystic Circle, of which she is a member.
The last occurred on Monday, at
Union M. E. chapel. Miss Arnold was
the recepient of many useful and beautiful
gifts.

A very pretty home wedding took
place on Wednesday, March 1, at
High Noon when Miss S. Lucille Arnold,
elder daughter of Supervisor
and Mrs. E. E. Arnold of Lake Road,
Somerset, became the wife of "Vernon
J. Bateman, youngest son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. M. Bateman. The Rev. A.
E. ^Mathews officiating in the presence
of about thirty guests. The
bridal pair were unattended. The
wedding march and other appropriate
musical numbers Were rendered
by Miss Pauline Arnold, sister
of the bride, at the piano and Miss
Lulu Arnold, violin, the bride's
cousin. The bride was becomingly
gowned in blue silk and carried
paper-white narcissi and pink roses.
Following the ceremony a wedding
breakfast was served, covers being
laid for twelve at the bride's table.
The decorations were in yellow and
white daffodils, yellow and white
place cards, etc. Mr. and Mrs.
Bateman left for a wedding trip to
New York City and other eastern
points. Upon their return they will
be at home in the Bateman road,
Somerset. Out of town guests were
Mr. and Mrs. Milford Arnold and
children, Melva May and Edwin E.,
of Ransomville.
