Lester H. Babcock, 71,
of: 150 1/2 Clair Ave., died
Saturday (July 13, 1968) in
DeGraff Memorial Hospital
after a short illness.
Born in North Tonawanda,
he had resided in Niagara
Falls for many years before
returning here 11 years ago.
He was employed at the
General Abrasive Co. before
retiring six years ago.
Surviving are his wife,
Margaret (Hy) Babcock; four
sons, Robert W. of California,
and Richard A., George E.
and Lester L. Babcock of this
city; three daughters, Mrs.
David Jackson, Mrs. Donald
Champlin and Miss Barbara
Babcock all this city; three
stepsons; four stepdaughters;
43 grandchildren; 2 greatgrandchildren
and three
sisters, Mrs. Cora McCarthy
of Niagara Falls, and Mrs.
William Nolan and Mrs.
Wesley Hayes both of
California.

Falls.

Cyrus Babcock, 82, a former
resident of North Tonawanda,
making his home at 9526 Pine
avenue, Niagara Falls, died yesterday
in a Lockport hospital. He
is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Leslie Hayes of North Tonawanda
and Mrs. Harry McCarthy
and Mrs. William Nolan of Niagara
Falls; a son, Leslie of North
Tonawanda; 10 grandchildren and
live great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
from the residence. Burial will
be in Elinlawn.

Cyrus married GREENWALD, Sophia B about 1888. Sophia (daughter of GREENWALD, George and Mary) was born about 1861 in New York; died on 10 May 1932 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Sophia B. Babcock, 71 years old,
wife of Cyrus Babcock and a lifelong
resident of this city, died at her. home,
9526 Pine avenue, at 12.40 a. m. today,
following a heart attack. Funeral services
will be held Thursday afternoon
at the home o f her daughter, Mrs.
"Tarr McCarthy, 10102 Buffalo avenue.
Mrs. Babcock was born in ^Niagara
Falls, daughter of the late George and
Mary Greenwald. She had lived here
all her life and had a wide circle of
friends in the city. Besides her husband,
she is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. McCarthy and Mrs. Wesley
Hayes, of this city, and Mrs. William
Nolan, of Buffalo, and one son, Lester
Babcock, of this city.
