    William J. Bagdy of Grand Island died April 8, 2024. He was a proud U.S. Army World War II veteran.
    Bagdy was the husband of 68 years of the late Barbara J. (nee Mye) Bagdy; the father of Christine Rassow, Charles (Bonnie) and David Bagdy; the grandfather of Olivia (Jared) Barnes, Natalie Rassow (Andre Kirsch), Erich (Kiely) Rassow, Dr. Lauren Bagdy (Marc Witowski), Erin (Tom) Cunningham, Alison Bagdy (Dr. Ryan Jordan), Jessica (Andrew) Porter and Michael Bagdy; the great-grandfather of Stella, Gemma, Camilla, Emma, Thomas, Austin, Cole, Henry and James; the son of the late Zoltan and Yolan Bagdy; and the brother of the late Franklin Bagdy and Irma Bagdy.
    Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Trinity Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island.

Bagdy; devoted and loving mother of Christine Rassow, Charles (Bonnie) and David Bagdy; cherished grandmother of Olivia, Natalie and Erich (Kiely) Rassow, Lauren (Marc) Bagdy, Erin (Thomas) Cunningham, and Alison (Ryan) Jordan, Jessica (Andrew) Porter and Michael Bagdy; also survived by four precious great-grandchildren, Emma and Thomas Cunningham, Austin Porter and Stella Rassow; dear daughter of the late Homer and Flora Mye. Sister of the late Homer Mye, Jr. and Charles Mye. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 10:30 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island.     Miss Mye is a graduate of
    Michigan State College where she
    was a member of Delta Gamma
    Fraternity. She is now on the
    staff of the University of Rochester.
    Mr. Bagdy served for three
    years in the U.S. Army Medical
    Corps and is now a senior at the
    University of Buffalo where he is
    a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.
    The wedding will take place in
    June.

    North Presbyterian Church was the setting at fourthirty
    o'clock Saturday afternoon for the marriage of Miss
    Barbara Jane Mye, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer John
    Mye. to William John Bagdy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Z. J.
    Bagdy. The Rev. Harry Somers officiated. Palms, cybodium
    ferns and candelabra with beauty vases of white gladioli,
    white delphinium and white asters formed an effective
    background for the ceremony.
    With J. Gordon Felton accom-
    panying at the organ, John Em-
    mett sang "For You Alone" and
    "The Lord's Prayer."
    The bride's gown of off-white

    .satin was fashioned with a tight
    fitting basque and full skirt flared
    into a cathedral length train.
    A yoke of frosted Chanttily lace
    was outlined with seed pearls, and
    pearl- edged the long sleeves
    wnieh tapered over the hands. Her
    fingertip veil of illusion was
    caught to a band of satin adorned
    with pearls. Given in marriage by
    her father, she carried a semicascade
    of gardenias and stepha
    not is.
    Attendants for the bride were
    Mrs. Charles E. Mye, matron-ofnonor;
    Miss Irma L. Bagdy, Miss
    Gladys Ryall of Grove City, Pa.,
    and Miss Lois Hadden of Savan-
    nah, N.Y. All wore gowns of
    Spring-green marquisette in shirtwaist

    style with Peter Pan collars
    and short sleeves. Tiny tucks
    across the bodices were repeated
    in the hemlines of the full skirts.
    They carried bouquets of blue
    Dutch iris and yellow marguerites
    with hair pieces to match.
    Franklin Bagdy was his brother's
    best man. The ushers were
    Gerald Lesniewski of Buffalo,
    Lloyd Manning, Charles E. Mye
    and Homer J. Mye Jr.
    The bride's mother chose a hydrangea
    blue gown with lace
    bodice and chiffon skirt with a
    matching hat. The mother of the
    groom wore a navy blue sheer
    dress with lace yoke and a navy
    blue hat. Both wore corsages of
    orchids.
    A reception was held in the
    Park Lane immediately following
    the ceremony.
    For a motor trip to Virginia and
    the Smoky Mountains, the bride
    wore an aqua Summer suit with
    navy accessories.

    Z. Bagdy of New York City, em-
    ployed in the Justice Department
    of the federal government, and
    William J. Bagdy, associated
    with the Mye Lumber Corpora-
    tion. They have three grandcbil-
    dren.

    Mr. Bagdy retired from the
    Tonawanda Iron Corporation in
    1957.
