    WHEATFIELD — Richard C. Wittkowsky, age 77, of Wheatfield, was called peacefully to his heavenly home on May 12, 2012, at his residence. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on January 13, 1935. He was the son of the late Armin and Florence (Lemke) Wittkowsky. Richard was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Class of 1952 and he furthered his education at the University of Buffalo. He was employed as a draftsman at Buffalo Pumps in North Tonawanda. Richard was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, Buffalo Model Boat Club, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Canadian Figure Skating Association, and was a judge of figure skating for 25 years. Hobbies included building model boats and airplanes.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn A. (nee Fisher) Wittkowsky; two children, Debbi L. (Jim) Oswald and Douglas (Jennifer) Wittkowsky; and also parented Holly (Martin) Lichtenberger-Carges. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kristin Oswald, Kimberly Oswald, Andrew Wittkowsky, Sarah Rose Wittkowsky, Natalie D'Arata and Alexis Carges.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Thursday (May 17), at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz. A private interment with the family will take place in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

    Christian Wittkowski, 88, died
    yesterday afternoon at the home
    of His son. Armin T., of 288 Sommer
    street North Tonawanda.
    He was born in Germany and
    lived in North Tonawanda for the
    past 58 years. He is survived by
    a brother John of Neudeck, Germany,
    two other sons, Herman F.
    of North Tonawanda and Christian
    A., of Miami, Fla., and two
    daughters, Mrs. William Krause
    and Mrs. Otto Grose of North
    Tonawanda. Also surviving him
    are 10 grandchildren and four
    great grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The
    Rev. Theodore Mayer will officiate.
    Burial will be in Salem
    Cemetery.

    k o w s k i ' s eldest son.
    Following the s e r v i c e s at Frieden's
    Church, last evening, Reverend and
    Mrs. K. A. Schulz called to extend
    their congratulations and Reverend
    S c h u l z gave an a p p r o p r i a t e speech.
    Mr and Mrs. W i t t k o w s k i were mar
    ried at Neudorfeheu. West Prussia,
    Germany in 1864 and came to America
    and then settling in North Tonawanda
    where they have resided

    and best wishes of a large circle of
    f r i e n d s .

    their 57th wedding anniversary

    Carl W. Lemke, 63, died today at his
    home, 283 Summer street, after a
    brfof illness. He was born in Bergholtz
    and resided here for the past

    LEMKE - Hermina R. Lemke, 82 of 283 Sommer St., North Tonawanda, died Sunday (July 17, 1960) in DeGraff memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. Mrs. Lemke, who had lived here all her life was a member of St. Matthew's Church. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Lemke and mother of the late Alice Lemke. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Amond T. Wittkowsky, and a grandson, Richard C. Wittkowsky. Friends may call at Wattengel Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
