James "Jimmy" Robert Walker of Olcott, entered into rest on Friday, August 19, 2016. Born February 27, 1956 in Niagara Falls NY, Jim is the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Urtel) Walker.
Jimmy attended the Sunshine School in Lockport and was one of the initial residents of the Developmental Center in West Seneca. Always in the lead, Jim later moved to various group homes where he participated in sheltered workshops, attended camp, and enjoyed being part of the community. Jim was currently attending the day program at Opportunities Unlimited on Niagara Falls Blvd while he resided in Amherst.
Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family,holidays, flying kites, and music. He touched the lives of many with his humor, generous spirit, and simple life.
Surviving Jimmy is his sister Jayne (Douglas) Lloyd of Lockport and nephews: Barrett Lloyd and Parker Siddall. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Jody Siddall and niece Paige Siddall.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 am from St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Street. Lockport, NY. Interment will be in St Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Lockport, NY.

OLCOTT —
Robert James Walker, age 82, of Olcott, entered into rest on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane. Born August 3, 1931 in Tonawanda, NY, he is the son of the late Robert J. and Evelyn (Shartz) Walker.
A graduate of Wilson High School, he played on the 1949 six-man football team, basketball, ran track and is listed on the Wilson Wall of Fame. Robert married Hazel (Urtel) Walker on April 12, 1952 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cambria. He served his country in the US Navy from June 9, 1953 until June 3, 1955 receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Robert was employed at NYNEX in Buffalo with Network Services second level retiring in 1990. Robert was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and past member of the Lockport Country Club. He served his community as a Boy Scout Leader, the Olcott Fire Company and Meals on Wheels. Robert enjoyed boating, skiing and gardening. Robert and his wife, Hazel traveled extensively and built their dream home. He has resided in Olcott for the past 57 years, previously of Wilson.
Surviving Robert is his loving daughter, Jayne (Douglas) Lloyd of Lockport; and dear son, James Walker of Tonawanda. Loving grandfather of Barrett Lloyd and Parker Siddall. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Hazel (Urtel) Walker; a daughter, Jody Siddall; and a granddaughter, Paige Siddall. Several nieces and nephews also survive Robert.

OLCOTT — Hazel U. (Urtel) Walker of Olcott, entered into rest on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Ransomville, she was the daughter of Edward L. and Mabel I. (Rohring) Urtel.

Hazel graduated from Wilson High School. She married Robert Walker on April 12, 1952 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Owner of Flora Hatch, an elegant apparel store which operated in both Lockport and Williamsville for over 50 years, Hazel brought her sense of style and fashion to her many loyal customers. Hazel was a former member of Zonta, DLBA, Habitat for Humanity, Concordia Lutheran Church and Lockport Town and Country Club. Hazel enjoyed spending time golfing, (hole in one at Lockport Country Club), extensive travel, entertaining, gardening, skiing and boating.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert; a son, James Walker; daughters, Jayne (Doug) Lloyd and Jody Siddall; grandsons, Barrett Lloyd and Parker Siddall. Hazel was predeceased by her granddaughter, Paige Siddall; sister to Elton Urtel, Dolly Urtel, Helen Bye and the late Russell Urtel, Delilah Grzybowski and Lawrence Urtel. Hazel is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

WILSON, Nov. 9-Former chair-
man of the Town Board of Assessors,
William C. Rohring, 82. of
Lake Ave., died yesterday (Nov. 8,
1955) in Ransomville General Hospital
where he had been a patient
for several weeks.
Born in Germany Dec. 5, 1872,
Mr. Rohring came to the United
States with his parents in 1885. The
family took up residence in Brayley
Rd. His parents were Charles and
Wilhelmina Rohring.
Mr. Rohring married Reka Kraus
of this village in 1893. She died
in 1931. He was married to Cecilia
Kiegler, Buffalo, in 1933.
Survivors include his wife; five
sons, Elwood, Glenn,-.Clarence,
Wesley and Levell Rohring; a'
daughter, Mrs. Mabel Urtel, all of,
the Town of Wilson; two stepsons
August Kiegler, Buffalo, and Paul
Kiegler, Hopewell. Va.; 20 grandchildren
and 28 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Wilbur-
Rohring. All his children were
born during his first marriage.
Mr. Rohring operated a farm in
Town Line Rd. until 1926 when
he retired from farming. He served
as tax collector for two years, as
superintendant of highways for 10
years and as a member of the Board
of Assessors for 20 years, 18 of
which as chairman.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Friday at thc residence,
and at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran
Church. North Ridge, at
2:30. Burial will be in the Lutheran
Cemetery. North Ridge. The Rev.
Carl W. Oldach will officiate.
