    LYNDONVILLE - At a ceremony
    performed Fridat a 5:30 p.m. at
    the parsonage of the Trinity Evan-
    gelical Lutheran church in Medina,
    Miss Marian Tompkins, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Hartwell Tompkins,
    Brockport, became the bride of
    Carl Balschmiter, son of Mr. and
    Mrs. William Balschmiter, of Lyn-
    donville.
    The witnesses to the service,
    which was performed by the Rev.
    Malte, was the groom's sister,
    Miss Gertrude Balschmiter and the
    bride's brother, Edward Tompkins,
    Brockport.
    The bride wore a street dress of
    white and pink silk print with navy
    accessories. Her corsage was pink
    roses.
    The maid of honor wore a plain
    crepe with black accessories
    and a corsage of bronze rorses.
    After a delightful dinner was served
    the two couples after which the
    bride and groom left on a short
    trip.
    Mrs. Balschmiter, a graduate of
    Brockport Normal school, before
    her marriage taught in Lyndonville
    Central school district.
    Upon their return the couple will
    be at home at Yates Center.
    The groom is employed by Fred
    Langdon's trucking concern in
    Lyndonville.

    Dansville-Fred D. Bossard, 55, of
    South Hornell, father-in-law of Leon
    Lemen of Hornell, formerly of this
    village, died in St. James" Mercy
    Hospital, Thursday afternoon. Mr.
    Bossard. proprietor of the Glenwood
    Dairies, had been a patient at the
    hospital since December 17. -
    He is survived by his widow, one
    other daughter, five sons, his father,
    William Bossard of Hornell, and
    three sisters.
    Funeral services were conducted
    from the family home, Tuesday afternoon.

    Bossard, 45 of Crittenden, died
    today at the Bethesda Hospital.
    She was a member of Park Methodist
    Episcopal Church here and
    a lifelong resident of this vicinity.
    Surviving are her husband. Fred
    Bossard; five children, Hariett,
    William, Marian, Merlin and Ken-
    neth, all at home, and a sister, Mrs.
    Buare Gulliver, Babylon, L.I.

    LYNDONVILLE - A retired
    farmer, William A. Balschmiter,
    75, died this morning (Jan. 31,
    1968) in Medina Memorial Hospi-
    tal following a week's illness. He
    had resided in this vicinnity for 43
    years since coming to America
    from Germany in 1914.
    Born Nov. 15, 1883 to Gruno

    Germany, he was the son of the
    late Mr. aad Mrs. Carl Balschmi
    ter aad was married to the former
    Martha Kopipzki, of Barker,
    March 25, 1914.
    Mr. Balschmiter was a member
    of the Medina Trinity Lutheran
    Church.
    Survivors, besides his wife, include
    three sons. Carl of Lyndon
    ville; William P. of Hilton and
    Lester of Medina; three daughters.
    Mrs. Herbert Church, Lockhaven.
    Pa., Mrs. Carl Ivisen. Pitts
    ford, and Mrs. Albert Rook, Spen
    cerport, one brother, Ernst
    Balschmiter, Berlin, Germany;
    one sister. Mrs. Helen Benz, Gruno.
    Germany and 15 grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    Sunday at 3 at the Smythe Funeral
    Home with the Rev. Herman
    Llndke, Shelby Center, officiating.
    Burial will be to Lynhaven Cemetery.

    Mrs. Martha E. Balschmiter,
    85, formerly of the North
    Lyndonville Road, Lyndonville,
    died Friday evening at the
    Orchard Manor Nursing Home
    where she had been a patient.
    Mrs. Balschmiter was born
    October 21, 1893 in Germany,
    the daughter of the late
    Frederick and Emelia
    Kopitzki.
    She came to the United States
    in 1914, where she lived in
    Barker, N.Y. unitl 1920 when
    she moved to the Town of Yates
    where she and her husband,
    William Balschmiter engaged
    in farming.
    She was a member of the
    Trinity Lutheran Church of
    Medina. She had worked at
    various canning companies in
    the area, among them Lyn-
    donville Canning Co. until her
    retirement in 1960.
    Her husband, William
    Balschmiter died in 1958.
    She is survived by five
    children, Mrs. Herbert (Freda)
    Church of Mechanicsburg, Pa.,
    William Balschmiter of Hilton,
    Mrs. Charles (Gertrude) Ivison
    of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.,
    Mrs. Albert (Esther) Rook of
    Spencerport, and Lester E.
    Balschmiter of Medina. One
    son, Carl Balschmiter died in
    1976.
    She is also survived by 17
    grandchildren; 15 great-
    greandchildren; two brothers,
    Frederick Kopitzki of Shelby
    and Paul Kopitzki of Albion; a
    suiter, Mrs. Glenwood (Frieda)
    Stephens of Lockport, and
    several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held
    this afternoon at 3 p.m. at the
    Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home,
    236 Pearl St., Medina. Of-
    ficiating at the service were th e
    Rev. Gerald J. Grimm of
    Middleport, and the Rev.
    Russell Ivison of Missouri, a
    grandson of Mrs. Balschmiter.
    Burial was in Lynhaven
    Cemetery, Lyndonville.
    Memorials may be made to
    the Organ Fund of the Trinity
    Lutheran Church of Medina.
