    John Baltely, of 1136 Fairfield avenue,
    a widely known businessman
    here for many years, died at Mount
    St. Mary's hospital Saturday night,
    following a month's Illness. He was 60
    years old.
    A native of East Aurora, Mr. Baltzly
    hod lived in Niagara Falls for the past
    33 years, during which time he conducted
    a painting and paper-hanging
    business. He was a member of
    Camp Niagara. No 5, Woodmen of
    the World, and had a wide circle of
    friends. He is survived by his wife,
    Mrs. Anna Baltzly; two sons. Ralph
    and John Baltzly. of this city, and
    four sisters, Mrs. Mary Allen, of Merrill.
    Wis., and Mrs. Sophie Nugent.
    Mrs. Amelia Kaeslau and Mrs. Elizabeth
    Gortzlg. of Buffalo.
    Funeral services will be held at the
    family home at 2 30 p. m. Burial
    will be in Riverdale cemetery.

    testamentary were Issued to a
    son, Ralph M. Baltzly, 1136 Fairfield
    avenue. Niagara Falls.
    A printing justness and the
    house and lot at 1136 Fairfield ave-
    nue, Niagara Falls, were left to the
    son. Ralph. To another son, John
    Baltzly was bequeathed a house and
    lo at 1138 Fairfield avenue. A bequest
    of $200 wa made to Sacred
    Heart church and bequests of $500
    each were made to two grandchildren.

    Carpenter Dies After Long Illness
    Theodore Kumm Sr, 80, of 9165 Buffalo Ave., died today (July 23, 1958) at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Valley Creek, Minn., he lived in this city for 44 years. He was a carpenter by trade and retired 15 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Kumm; five daughters, Mrs. John Baltzly and Mrs. Nick Gambaro, this city; Mrs. Max Greenwald and Mrs. Herbert Grover, Kenmore, and Mrs. Gordon Davis, Biggs, Ca. Also surviving are three sons, Raymond, Theodore and Elmer Kumm, this city; a brother, Albert Kumm, Amherst; 26 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Lane Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Lawrence Herfurth officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Mrs. Anna (Greinert) Kumm, 77, of 9165 Buffalo Ave., died today in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Bergholtz, she had lived in Niagara Falls for 50 years. Mrs Kumm is survived by five daughters,; Mrs, John Baltzly and Mrs. Max Greenwald, this city, Mrs. Herbert Grover, Grand Island, Mrs. Ethel Gumbarow, in Texas and Mrs. Gordon Davis. of California; three sons, Raymond, Theodore and Elmer Kumm, all of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Mrs . Augusta Heisterburg and Mrs. George Hildebrandt and four brothers, Otto, Edward,Theodore, and Julius Greinert. She. Also is survived by 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at. 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Carl Selle officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery, North Tonawanda. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home until noon Saturday.

    August Kumm Ill Long Time
    Civil War Veteran Passes Away at Age of Seventy Three.
    SAW SOME HARD FIGHTING
    His Regiment, Which Was in the Army of the Gulf, Participated in Several Notable Battles
    Wounded Twice and Taken Prisoner Once.
    August Krumm, seventy-three years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Jacobs of No. 38 Seymour street, last night, following a lingering illness. Mr. Krumm was a veteran of the Civil War. He enlisted as a private in Company K, 91st Regiment, Volunteer Infantry, at Albany on December 6, 1851. He retaliated in the same company and regiment at Brashier City, La., 06 January 1, 1864, serving until honorably discharged at the close of the war. He was taken prisoner by the Confederates at Pensacola, Fla., and removed to Vicksburg, Miss., where he was imprisoned for two months and twenty-three days. At the expiration of that time he was placed on parole and succeeded in getting back to his regiment. Among the notable battles of the Rebellion in which Mr. Kumm participated were those at White Oak Ridge, Five Forks, Petersburg, Appamattox Court House, Lexersburg and Donaldsville. His regiment was a part of the Army of the Gulf and most of its battles were in the enemy's territory. Twice during the war Mr. Kumm was wounded, once in the arm and the other time in the leg. Mr. Kumm was born in Germany. He came to America when eighteen years old. During the last twenty eight years of his life he had made his home in North Tonawanda with the exception of a few months of 1914 when he and his wife lived at LaSalle. The deceased was a member of Payne Post, G.A.R. Besides his wife Mr. Kumm is survived by six sons: August Kumm of Niagara Falls, Gustave Kumm of North Tonawanda, Frank Kumm of Stillwater, Minn.; Albert Kumm of Hibbing, Minn.. Theodore and Fred Kumm of LaSalle and two daughters, Mrs. George Fisher of LaSalle and Mrs. Jacobs. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house, Rev. F. A. Higgins of the First Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will take place at the Sweeney cemetery.

    Mrs. Caroline Kumm, 75 years old, died last evening after an illness of four weeks, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Jacobs of 92 Delaware street. The deceased is survived by six sons; August, Gustave, and Frank Kumm of North Tonawanda, NY Albert Kumm of Minnesota, Theodore and Fred Kumm of LaSalle, NY, two daughters; Mrs. Charles Jacobs of Tonawanda, and Mrs. George Fisher of Derby, NY Mrs. Kumm was one of the oldest members of the Women's Relief Corps of Lewis S. Payne Post. The Funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house of Mrs. Jacobs, Rev F. A. Higgins, pastor of the First Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Sweeney cemetery

She is survive by four daughters, Mrs. Charles Meyers , North Tonawanda, Mrs. Theodore Kumm, Niagara`Falls, Mrs Gustav Helsterberg, Pendleton,, and Mrs George Hildebrandt, St, Johnsburg. four sons, Otto, St Johnsburg, Julius and Theodore, North Tonawanda, and Edward, St Johnsburg, 25 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the rsidence, and half an hour later at the St John's church. Rev Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in the St John's cemetery.
