    Wearing her mother's
    wedding gown of antique
    satin. Miss Mary Ann
    Ranalli became the bride of
    Arthur James Seward, at 12
    noon Saturday. The Rev.
    Alfred Palma officiated at
    the ceremony, performed at
    the Christian Assembly in
    Syracuse.
    The bride is the daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Patsy
    Ranalli, of 200 Paikin Dr.,
    Syracuse. Mr. Seward is the
    son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Gaylord Bane, 4497 Orchard
    PL, Gasport and the late
    Arthur James Seward.
    The bride was given in
    marriage by her father. Her
    floor - length gown featured
    a full skirt, with long fitted
    sleeves and the scalloped
    neckline was trimmed with
    sequins and pearls. Her
    finger-tip veil was held in
    place by a Dutch style cap.
    She carried a bouquet of
    white carnations.
    Mrs. Pat Flanigan was
    honor attendant for her
    sister. The Rose crepe skirt
    of her full - length gown
    was topped with a whipped
    c r e a m white blouse,
    trimmed with rose lace and
    pink bows.
    The bridesmaids, Miss
    Georganne Ranalli, cousin
    of the bride, Miss Sharon
    Facik and Miss Sharon
    Peck, all of Syracuse, wore
    gowns identical to the honor
    attendant.
    Richard David Seward
    was best man for his
    brother. A reception at die
    " R o o s t e r West", in
    S y r a c u s e , followed the
    wedding.
    The Bridegroom is a
    graduate of Royalton -
    Hartland Central School
    Both attended the State
    University of New York at
    Fredonia, where the bride
    received a BA in secondary
    biology and the groom a BA
    in music education. The
    groom taught music in
    Southampton Public School
    on Long Island for one year.
    After a wedding trip to
    Switzerland, the couple will
    live in Fulda, Germany,
    where Mr. Seward is
    stationed with the 5th Corps
    of the 84th Army Band.

    Susan Seward Kidney, age 99, of Gasport, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born on September 26, 1917 in Buffalo, Susan is the daughter of the late Harold and Mae (Thomson) Smith.
    Susan was a graduate of Buffalo Layfette High School and then went on to Buffalo State Teachers College. She worked as a salary payroll clerk at Harrison Radiator in Lockport. Susan was a member of the Covenant United Church of Christ. She enjoyed singing in the Choir and was a member of the women's fellowship. She loved musing playing the piano while her husband played the violin. She was a devoted mother and loved to spend time with her family. Susan had lived in the area since 1936, previously of Buffalo.
    Susan was predeceased by three husbands, Arthur Seward, Gaylord Bane and John Kidney. Surviving are her children, Nancy (the late Ron) Romanowski, Patricia (the late Joseph) Lazaro, Arthur James (Mary Ann) Seward and Richard David (Diane Seitz) Seward. Sister of the late Genevieve McKee Strong; sister-in-law of Shirley and Ron Weaver; grandmother of Craig R. Romanowski, Jennifer Ross, Steven (Sabre) Alt, Bruce (Betty) Alt, Susan (Tim) Pauketat, James (Nicole) Seward, Paige Jaster, Jennifer Becker and Adam Seward. Susan is also survived by several great grandchildren.
    Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Wednesday from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Covenant United Church of Christ, 4449 Central Avenue, Gasport, NY on Thursday at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Tipton officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY. Memorials appreciated to Covenant United Church of Christ or to Niagara Hospice.

    Gasport died at Lockport
    Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.
    He had been there for seven
    weeks.
    Mr. Smith was born Nov. 5
    1882 in North Rose, a son of
    William O. and Genevieve
    (Post) Smith.
    He was married to the former

    Miss May R. Partington June,
    1914, in Buffalo.
    Mr. Smith worked in Buffalo
    for the Lake Erie Engineering
    Corp. as a guard until he
    retired in 1955.
    Since retiring, he made his;

    home in this area. He had lived
    at 8786 Bradley Road until last
    year.
    Mr. Smith was a member of
    the Gasport United Church of
    Christ.
    He leaves his widow, May;
    two daughters, Mrs. Francis
    (Genevieve) McKee, and Mrs.
    Gaylord (Susan) Bane, both of
    Gasport; one sister, Mrs. Glen
    Versprill of Wolcott; one
    brother, the Rev. Frederick W.
    Smith of Hilton; nine grandc
