Rosa M. ‘Mae’ (Dewberry) Barone, 87 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday September 3, 2017 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born in Waterford, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Duesling) Dewberry.
Mae as she was affectionately known by family and friends was raised and educated in Ontario. On June 4, 1949, she married Louis C. Barone at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mae was employed with the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a lunch aid for over twenty years, working at Hyde Park and 39th Street Schools. She was a longtime active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Mae had a passion for cooking, particularly Italian dishes, and in her leisure time enjoyed walking and playing cards with her friends.
In addition to her husband of 68 years, Mae is survived by her four children, Gary (Linda) Barone, Linda (Fred) Fagyas, Paul Barone and Kimberly (John) Ferriter, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, as well as nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Private funeral services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by M.J.
