    Notes:

    John T. Barr, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in Elderwood at Wheatfield. Born in Winburne, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Helen (Gregus) Barr; and the beloved husband of Mary (Snyder) Barr, whom he married on May 27, 1952.
    John moved to Niagara Falls with his family and was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School. On March 28, 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army proudly serving during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working at Airco Speer as a Tow Motor Operator for many years prior to his retirement.
    John was an avid baseball fan and loved the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed his daily walks on Goat Island. Above all, John enjoyed spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.
    In addition to his wife of 72 years, John is survived by his children, Sherry Peters, John (Teresa) Barr and Jeff (Sibel) Barr; his grandchildren, Alexandra (Matthew) Pearson, Leah (Michael) Leahy and Olivia Barr; his great-grandchildren, Jack and Wade Pearson and Riley Leahy; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Shannon Peters; two sisters, Virginia and Marie, and three brothers, Donald, Kenny and Gerald.
    Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.

    Funeral services will be held
    at 11 a.m.' Saturday at the Otto
    Redanz. Funeral Home, with the
    Rev. Roger E. Purdy, pastor
    of Pierce Avenue United Pres
    byterian Church, officiating.
    Burial will be at Memorial
    Park Cemetery.
    The family will. be .present
    7 to 9 p.m. today, and 3 to
    5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

    Mrs. Barr was born in

    35 years.
    Surviving are her husband,
    Donald D. Barr; four sons,
    Donald H., John T., Kenneth
    L. and Gerald J. Barr, all of
    this city; two daughters, Mrs.
    Virginia Beaver, this city, and
    Mrs. Marie Nassoiy, Grand
    Island; 11 grandchildren; and

    Thomas Barr, of 1848 Michigan
    avenue, died in Memorial hospital at
    1:15 o'clock this morning, following
    a weeks Illness. He was 59 years old.
    A native of Snowshoe, Pa., Mr. Barr
    had lived in Niagara Falls for the
    past six years. He was employed as a
    blacksmith at the plant of the Carborundum
    company. He was a member
    of the I. O. O. F. lodge of Swinburne,
    Pa. He is survived by his wife,
    Mrs. Carrie Pierce Barr, and three
    sons, Adam I.., Donald D. and Harry
    T. Barr. of this city; A daughter. Mrs.
    Margaret K. Gratz, of Kenmore;
    four brothers, John and James Barr,
    of this city, and Adam and Roper
    Barr. ot Pennsylvania, and three
    sisters, Mrs. George Noll and Mrs.
    Charles Johnson, of Swinburne, Pa,
    and Mrs. Frank Murray, ot Lewiston,
    Pa. Ten grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services will be held at the
    family honre at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday,
    with the Rev. W. C. Crofts, pastor of
    the First Presbyterian church, officiating.
    Interment will be made In
    Memorial Park cemetery.
