    NORTH TONAWANDA -
    Eva Ruth "Ruthie" Barrand, of North Tonawanda, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. She was born in Town of Pendleton, NY on November 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Fred and Alta (Seaton) Ammerman.
    Mrs. Barrand graduated from North Tonawanda High School. She had lived in Pekin and later moving to Panama City, FL for many years, before returning to North Tonawanda in 2001. Mrs. Barrand enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family.
    She was the wife of the late William G. Barrand, Jr., who died in November of 1986. Mrs. Barrand is survived by three sons, Duane (Velma) Barrand of Topton, NC, William (Cathy) Barrand of Erie, MI and Steven (Darlene) Barrand of Toledo, OH; two daughters, Donna (James) Forster of Niagara Falls, NY and Diane (Eugene) Osowski of Ransomville, NY; and a sister, Freda Skuce. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louis and Edward Ammerman, Zola Krueger and Lois Bridge.
    The family will be present on Saturday from 10-11 AM at the Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Road., Lockport, NY, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Inurnment in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY. Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Sanborn, NY.

    who live in Panama
    City, Fla., celebrated their 50th
    anniversary at an open house
    with their children in the
    Buffalo area.
    The party took place June 28
    in the home of a son, Louis
    Ammerman, and his wife, of
    1233 Ruie Road
    The couple was married
    March 12, 1919 in Mecosta
    County, Mich.
    Hosting the party were Edward
    Ammerman and Mrs.
    JosephSkuce (Freda), of North
    Tonawanda, Mrs. William
    Barrand (Ruth), of Sanborn;
    Mrs. Charles Bridge (Lois), of
    Buffalo; and Mrs. Edward
    Krueger (Zola), their husbands
    and wives, 32 grandchildren
    and 16 great-grandchildren.
    Also attending were guests
    from Canada, Michigan and the

    Buffalo area.
    The couple lived in Krueger
    Road, North Tonawanda, before
    they moved to Florida. Mr.
    Ammerman was employed at
    the Bell Aircraft Corp. before
    his retirement.
    The couple will leave Thursday
    for Michigan returning to
    the Tonawandas in August for a
    stay before leaving for their
    home in Florida in September.
