    Mr. and Mrs. T. Edwin Mc-
    Knight of 174 Genesee St. announce
    that the marriage of their
    daughter, Audrey Ruth, to James
    J. Britt of Grand Island will be
    solemnized at 9 o'clock tomorrow
    morning in St. John the Baptist
    Church.
    A reception will be held from 2
    to 4 o'clock in the Washington
    Room of the Park Hotel.
    Friends and relatives are cor-
    dially invited to attend.

    The Rev. Francis A. Clancy, DD,
    pastor, performed the ceremony
    and Miss Sally Niland sang the
    Ave Maria.
    The bride wore a white marquisette
    gown over satin, designed
    with a tight bodice, the long sleeves
    accented with cuffs of Chantilly
    lace. Her full skirt was in tiers
    of matching lace. A lace cloche
    held the finger-tip veil of French
    illusion. She carried a cascade
    bouquet of gardenias and white
    roses.
    Mrs*. R. James Buchanan of Portsmouth,
    Va., her sister's matron
    of honor, was attired in a gown
    of w h i t e French embroidered
    organdy over green taffeta
    matching green cloche and a cu -
    cade bouquet of green carnations
    completed her costume.
    Mrs. Robert Wall in orchid and
    Miss Susan McDermott in yellow
    wore gowns similar to that of the
    matron of honor, with matching
    cloches and bouquets.
    Paul Joensen was best man and
    ushers were John Tracy and Robert
    Bensman of Grand Island.
    Mrs. McKnight, for her daughter's
    wedding, chose a violet
    shantung two-piece ensemble with
    matching hat and black accessories..
    She wore yellow roses. A purple
    velvet ensemble with matching
    velvet hat and accessories was
    chosen by Mrs. Patrick Healy,
    grandmother of the groom.
    Following the bieadkfast and reception
    in the Washington Room
    of the Park Hotel, the couple left
    for an eastern a motor trip. For
    traveling, the bride wore a check
    suit with black velvet accessories
    and a corsage of red roses. After
    Aug. 26, they will reside in Buffalo.

    MIDDLEPORT - John Britt
    of 2782 Drum Road, 82, died
    unexpectedly today at his
    home.
    He was born Dec. 1,1898, the
    son of Frank and Brigette
    (Fuery) Britt, and had lived m
    Middleport all of his life.
    Mr. Britt retired from
    Harrison's in 1962 after 37 years
    of service. He also operated the
    Britt Slaughter House, at his
    home for the past 60 years. He
    was a member of St Patrick's
    Roman Catholic Church in
    Barker!
    He was husband of the late
    Rose Britt; father of Robert G.
    Britt of Middleport, Mrs. Rose
    Mary Woodworm of Lockport,
    Mrs. Paul (Jean) Targus of
    Middleport and the late James
    Britt, and was brother of
    Thomas Britt of Lockport.
    He Is also survived by 11
    grandchildren and several
    nieces and nephews.
    Arrangements, incomplete at
    this time, are being made
    through the Bates, Wallace and
    Heath Funeral Home Inc., 38
    State St.

    Rose Ann Britt, nee Healy, wife of
    John Britt, Johnson's Creek, N. Y.,
    passed away very suddenly Wednes
    day morning, October 3, 1934, aged
    31 years. She leaves to mourn besides
    her husband, two sons, James and
    Robert, two daughters, Rose Mary
    and Jeane, her mother, Mrs. Mary
    Healy, Lockport, N. Y., six brothers,
    Thomas, John, Jerry, Joseph, Daniel
    and Mortice, two sisters, Mrs. Lewis
    Shanley and Miss Agnes Healy. Funeral
    will be held Saturday morning
    at 8:30 from the residence and 9
    o'clock at St. Stephen's church, Middleport,
    N. Y., Rev. William Quinlan
    officiating.

    Complications resulting from a
    fractured hip suffered seven weeks
    ago ln a fall at her home resulted
    to the death of Mrs. Maria Barrett
    Haley, 81. of 96 Caledonia St., Monday
    afternoon at Lockport City Hospital
    Mrs. Haley was a lifelong resident
    of Lockport She was educated
    to St. Patricks Parochial School
    and was a member of St. Patrick's
    Church.
    Surviving are three sisters, Mrs.
    William Donahue, Niagara Palls;
    Mrs. Claude Murphy and Mrs.
    James P. Duffy of Lockport.
    Services will be held Thursday at
    9:30 at the home and at 10 o'clock
    at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will
    be to St. Patricks Cemetery.

    Edward Barrett, 76 years old, for
    many years a locktender on the
    canal here, died at 5:25 o'clock last
    night at his home, 96 Caledonia
    street, after a long illness. He had
    been confined to his home since he
    suffered a stroke six years ago.
    Mr. Barrett was born here and
    was a young man when he secured
    his first appointment as locktender.
    He held the job more than forty
    years and when forced to retire be-
    cause of ill health was one of the
    oldest canal employees in the state
    in point of service. He was a life-
    long member of St. Patrick's church.
    Surviving is one son and four
    daughters, Maria Barrett, Mrs.
    Claude Murphy, Mrs. James Duffy
    and Edward Barrett of this city an d
    Mrs. William Donahue of Niagara
    Falls. Funeral arrangements have
    not been competed.

    Edward married Sarah about 1875. Sarah was born in May 1857 in New York; died on 9 Mar 1924 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    and Edward Barrett, all of this city,
    and Mrs. William Donahue of Niagara
    Falls. N. Y.
