Miss Jeanette Ruth Bates, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bates of
Akron and Leo Richard Heist, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Heist of
Genesee road, Crittenden, were
united in marriage by a simple cere-
mony performed by the Rev. F. E.
Robinson, pastor of the Akron Bap-
tist church, Saturday afternoon,
May 25.
The bride was dressed in a black
suit with a white pin stripe and
white blouse and black accessories
and wore a corsage of rosebuds.
The bridesmaid, Miss Harriet
Konkle, wore a brown suit, London
tan accessories and a corsage of
rosebuds. Kenneth Bates, brother
of the bride, was best man.
Following the ceremony the bridal
party motored to Batavia. where
their pictures were taken, and returning
to the bride's home the
group enjoyed a wedding supper.
Mr. and Mrs. Heist left Sunday
morning for Port Washington, L. I.,
where they will make their home at
38 Litchfield road after June 1. Mr.
Heist is engaged ln the nursery
business there. Mrs. Heist is a
graduate of Akron high school, class
of '38.
The bride was entertained at a
linen shower Tuesday evening, May
18, by Miss Geneva Netzley at her
home in Akron.
Guests included the Misses Dorothy
Heist of Crittenden, Bertha
Mueller, Bertha and Bemice Lawrence,
Jacqueline Packman, Jeanette
Corbett, Katherine Eadie, Edith E -
dred, Frances Strickland and Arline
Bitterman.
