Obituary for Ann M. Putz
Ann M. Putz (Batka), 100, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, (April 2, 2023) in Elderwood of Grand Island. Ann was born on June 28, 1922 to Karl and Mary (Szczepaniak) Batka. Ann worked for Curtis Wright, Wurlitzer, volunteered at the VA and for the school cafeteria, Home health aid, Taylor Device, Remington Rand, and Hens and Kelly. Ann was predeceased by her husband of 55 years John J. Putz.
Ann is survived by her daughter Barbara A Kuehn (the late George A) , grandmother of Rebecca (Jason) Yots, and Deborah (Douglas) Mason, great grandmother of Jacob, George, Sarah and Julia, sister of John Batka, Margaret (Delbert) Bennett, Stanley (Margaret) and Helen Batka, also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 626 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, Interment White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ann's name to Niagara Hospice. arrangements by Wattengel Funeral Home. Wattengel.com

The altar of St. Francis Church
was decorated with cut flowers on
Sept. 11 for the marriage of Miss
Ann Batka of 513 Stenzel St. to
John Putz of Broad St. The Rev.
Edward Schwegler officiated.
Mrs. William Eacon presided at
the organ during the ceremony.
Leon Pequet sang "Ave Maria"
and "Mother at Thy Feet is Kneeling."
Given in marriage by her brother,
John Batka, the bride wore a
colonial gown of white satin with
a long train trimmed with Chantilly
lace. Her veil was fingertip
length and she carried a colonial
bouquet of white roses.
Miss Helen BatKa, maid of honor,
wore an aqua gown and carried
a bouquet of Talisman roses. Miss
Mary Bennett and Mrs. Beth
Tooke, bridesmaids, wore Dink
and orchid dresses and carried
bouquets of yellow roses.
John Heller attended the bridegroom
as best man. Stanley Batka
and James Tooke were ushers.
The bride's mother was attired
in a black silk dress and chese
blue accessories and a corsage of
mixed flowers. The bridegroom's
mother was unable to attend because
of illness.
A wedding breakfast and dinner
was held following the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Putz are making
their home in 305 Broad St.
