    Vases of white roses and carnations on the altar of
    St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church were the setting
    Saturday for the wedding of Miss Shirley Ann Batt,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Batt, 162 Vandervoort
    St., and Albert Frederick Durow, son of Mrs. Mary Salm,
    Kohl St. The Rev. Paul Fretthold performed the double
    ring ceremony.
    Given in marriage by her father,
    I the bride wore a floor-length town
    of Chantilly lace over satin. The
    bouffant skirt featured two plain
    j panels of net offset with sequins in
    the front with a small train of sequin-
    studded net extending in the
    back.
    The long-sleeved, fitted bodice
    was fashioned with a V-neckline
    and Queen Ann collar. Her finger-
    tip veil of illusion was caught to a
    crown of seed pearls and sequins.
    She carried a cascade bouquet of
    white rosebuds and shatter
    chrysanthemums centered with a
    miniature bluebird.
    Mrs. Barbara Rumbold was ma-
    tron of honor. She was dressed in
    yellow dotted swiss net over yel-
    low taffeta. The fitted bodice fea-
    tured a square neckline offset with
    pearls. Her headpiece was of yel-
    low braid with inserts of flowers
    and face veil. A pair of yellow
    mitts completed her costume. She
    carried a cascade bouquet of yel-
    low rosebuds with orchid carna-
    tions and streamers.
    The bridesmaids, the Misses Pa-
    tricia batt, sister of the bride, Dor-
    othy Ludke and Marjorie Hicks
    wore costumes identical to the ma-
    tron-of-honor's. They carried cas-
    cade bouquets of red rosebuds with
    yellow carnations and streamers.
    Miss Sandra Salm was a junior
    bridesmaid. She was dressed in
    yellow net over yellow taffeta with
    cap sleeves. Her headpiece was a
    band of daisies and her bouquet
    was a miniature of the bridesmaid.
    Donald Durow was best man
    with James Keiffer, Donald Batt.
    brother of the bride, and Robert
    Rogalsky as ushers.
    For her daughter's wedding, the
    bride's mother chose a dress of
    blue lace over blue satin with white
    accessories. The bridegroom's
    mother was dressed in gray lace
    over pink taffeta with white ac-
    cessories.
    After the ceremony, a dinner for
    the immediate family and mem-
    bers of the wedding party was giv-
    en in the Isle View Restaurant.
    Later a reception for 500
    guests
    took place in the Gratwick Fire
    Hall. Out-of-town guests were from
    New Mexico, Pennsylvania,
    Youngstown, Wilson, Lockport,
    Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
    Mr. and Mrs. Durow now are
    enjoying a week's wedding trip to
    the Adirondack Mountains.
    Entertaining with pre-nuptial
    parties for the bride were Mrs.
    Barbara Rumbold, Mrs. Margaret
    Rogalsky, Mrs. Salm, Ann Winser,
    Esther Kieffer and the Misses
    Wanda and Nina Batt.

    Mrs. Alvina Durow, 90, died this morning at the home of her son, Gustav Durow, 63 Allen street. Born to Germany, she had resided to North Tonawanda the past 81 years. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Philip Herman; three sons, Gustav, John of Lockport and Theodore of Niagara Falls; 28 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a brother, William Ellman of S t Johnsburg. Rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Allen street address and at 2:30 o'clock from the St Mark's church on Washington street The Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate. Burial will be St Marks cemetery.
