    Mrs. Frances G. Allison, 29 years
    old, wife of Thomas P. Allison, died
    early this morning after a brief illness
    at her home in 278 Adam street.
    Surviving, besides Mr. Allison, are one
    daughter, Armella; one son, Thomas,
    Jr., her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David
    Graf; four sisters, Mrs. William Long
    of Tonawanda. Sister Mary Anthanasia
    of Swormsville, the Misses Armella
    and Catherine Graff of Tonawanda,
    and two brothers, Leo Keicher and
    Xavier Graff of Tonawanda. Funeral
    services will be held Saturday morning
    at 8:30 from tbe late residence
    and at 9 o'clock from St. Francis
    church. Burial will be made in Mt.
    Olivet.

    died yesterday morning at her home
    In 393 Adam street after a lingering
    illness. Mrs. Graff was born In liamsvtllo
    and h a d been a resident
    of the Tonawandas for the past fifty
    years. She was a members of t he
    Altar society of tho St. F r a n c is
    church. Surviving are a husband.
    David F. Graff, four daughters, Sister
    Athanasia of Buffalo. Mrs. William
    Long and t h e Misses Amelia
    and Catherine Graff; two sons, Leo
    Keicher and Xavier Graff, six grandchildren,
    three sisters. Mrs. John
    Netter. Mrs. Helen Rathgeber a nd

    Xavier Batt, 81 years old, died sud
    denly at his home at No. 69 Main
    street late yesterday afternoon. Coroner
    George B. Helwig was called this
    morning to Investigate the cause of
    the man's death and pronounced it due
    to heart disease.
    Mr. Batt was connected with the
    North Tonawanda street department
    for many years and was working half
    an hour before he died. He was sit
    ting in a chair at his home, talking with, members of his family and other
    relatives, when he was stricken. Dr.
    C. W. Clendenan and Dr. R. H. Wilcox
    were called but the man was
    dead when they arrived.
    Mr. Batt came to this country from
    Germany when he was four years old
    and settled at Cheektowaga. They
    were passengers on the schooner Mary
    which was caught in a storm on the
    Atlantic and for many days threatened
    with destruction. The boat was
    113 days crossing the ocean. During
    the storm the passengers made a vow
    that they would erect a chapel in honor
    of the Mother of Our Lord. This
    chapel was erected at Cheektowaga
    and is known as "Our Lady Help of
    Christians." It was in the cemetery
    at the rear of the edifice that Mr.
    Batt's parents were buried. He will
    be buried in the same plot.
    Before coming to the Tonawandas 41
    years ago, Mr. Batt conducted a brew

    ery at Williamsville. Upon locating
    here he opened a flour mill and was
    later engaged in the manufacture of
    shingles. His mill was one of the finest
    of its kind to be operated in the
    Tonawandas.
    Had Mr. Batt lived,until July 4, 1914
    he and his wife would have observed
    their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
    Besides his wife, Mr. Batt Is survived
    by four daughters, Mrs. John Netter,
    Mrs. Helen Rathgeber, Mrs. Cather-
    ine Graff and Miss Rose Batt and five
    sons, William, Frank, Charles, Edward
    and Albert of Tonawanda and Casper
    of Cleveland- He leaves 35 grand-
    children and 5 great grandchildren.
    The, funeral will be held at the chapel
    at Cheektowaga Monday morning

    Mrs. Catherine Batt, 85 years old.
    widow of the late Xavier Batt, died
    Saturday at her late home at No. 60
    Main street, North Tonawanda. Her
    death followed an illness of two
    weeks. Mrs. Batt was born in the
    town of Cheektowaga and came to
    the Tonawandas to reside in 1868.
    With her family she located on Main
    street in North Tonawanda and continued
    her residence there during the
    rest of her life.
    Mrs. Batt is survived by four
    daughters, Mrs. John Netter, Mrs.
    Helen Rathgeber, Mrs. David Graff
    and Miss Rose Batt; five sons, William,
    Frank, Charles and Edward
    Batt, all of the Tonawandas, and Casper
    Batt of Cleveland. The funeral
    will be held tomorrow morning at 9
    o'clock at the chepel of Our Lady
    Help of Christians in Cheektowaga,
    founded by Mrs. Batt's father inlaw,
    Joseph Batt. Interment will be in
    the family lot adjoining the chapel
