Age 97 of the City of Tonawanda. Wife of the late Gordon P. Tussing, Sr. who died in 2018, mother of Judy (Robert) Mitchell, Dr. Gordon (Karen) Tussing, Jr. and Barbara (Keith) Lipps, grandmother of Dustin (Sara) Mitchell, Duncan (Melissa) Mitchell, Victoria (Howard) Margolies, Jennifer Lipps and Timothy (Cherisse) Lipps and great-grandmother of Victoria Mitchell, daughter of the late Harvey A. and Bessie I. May, sister of David (Margie) May and the late Marjorie (late Robert) Scranton, Mary (late John) Burkholder, Madalyn (late Robert Jr.) Barry, Bessie (late Paul) Schmidt, Harvey (late Sylvia) May II_ and Joan (late Dutch) Beringer. Also many nieces and nephews. Vivian was a 1943 graduate of Tonawanda High School. She was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ and an active member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens. Miss Vivian Carol May, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey A
May of 350 Delaware street, and
Sergeant Gordon Tussing, son of
MT. and Mrs. Ralph Tussing of
Scott Street, were united in marriage
last Sunday at 4 p. m. in
Salem Evangelical and Reformed
Church. The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel
performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Grace Dumbrosky sang "I
Love You Truly" preceding the
c e r e m o n y and "The Lord's
Prayer" during the ceremony,
with Miss Carrie Ostwald, the
organ accompanist.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a white net gown
fashioned with square neckline,
wrist length sleeves, and full skirt
forming a train. A finger tip veil
was fastened with clusters of orange
blossoms. She carried white
roses and carnations.
Miss Madalyn May, sister of the
bride, was the maid of-honor,
wearing a gown of ice blue net,
with pink carnations in her hair,
and carried a bouquet of carnations,
tied with pink net ribbon.
Alex Wojiechowski attended
the groom as best man, and the
ushers were Harvey May, Jr., and
Robert Doebier.
Following the ceremony a wed-
ding dinner was served in t he
Kathryn Lawrence Tea Room,
Buffalo. During the evening a
reception for 100 guests was held
at the home of the bride's parents.
Sgt. and Mrs. Tussing left for
a wedding trip, the bride choosing
a blue street dress, with matching
accessories for her traveling
costume. She wore a corsage of
gardenias. The couple will take
up their residence, upon their return,
in 350 Delaware street
