Candice “Candi” (Roszel) Gigliotti

Candice “Candi” (Roszel) Gigliotti, 65, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the loving daughter of the late Omar S. and Marci Roszel.

Candi, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1968, and later received her Cosmetology license after graduating from Roberts Beauty School in 1969. For the past 20 years, Candi was employed as a waitress at the Como Restaurant, where she enjoyed socializing and tending to others. Candi also enjoyed shopping, cooking, spending time with her family, friends and beloved cats, Sammy and LuLu. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her two loving granddaughters most.

Candi was the cherished mother of Paul (Molly nee Cowdrick) Gigliotti of Niagara Falls, NY and Jason (Kristin nee Saj) Gigliotti of Grand Island, NY; loving and devoted grammy to Gianna Gigliotti, Ava Gigliotti and her expected granddaughter due this spring; dear sister of Linda (John) Barron of Maryland and the late Greg (Terri of Tonawanda, NY) Roszel. She is also survived by her niece, Jillian Heller, and two nephews, Eric and Aaron Roszel. She will be dearly missed by her former husband, Joey Sacco and close girlfriends; Nancy Minicucci, Jackie Ciccarelli, Patti Hewitt, Shirley Sack and Barbara Holka.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9th from 3 - 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.

LEWISTON — Omer S. Roszel, of Niagara Falls, died Sept. 5, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston. He was 89. He was born in Niagara Falls on October 31, 1922, a son of the late Albert and Stella (Stolz) Roszel. He attended local schools and then entered the United States Army where he served as a medic during World War II. After his honorable discharge he worked at E.I. DuPont, retiring as a supervisor after 45 years of service.

Mr. Roszel was a longtime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Rainbow Boulevard, where he served on the Vestry. His passion was ballroom dancing with his special friend, Phyllis Gross, and enjoying his time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Barron and her husband, John of Easton, MD; his daughter, Candice Gigliotti of Niagara Falls; his daughter-in-law, Terri (late Gregory) Roszel of Buffalo; grandchildren, Paul Gigliotti and his wife, Molly of Niagara Falls; Jason Gigliotti and his wife, Kristin of Tonawanda; Eric Roszel of Lewiston; Aaron Roszel of Tonawanda; Jillian Heller and her husband, Tim of Buffalo; and great-granddaughter, Gianna Gigliotti of Tonawanda. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcy (1977) and son, Gregory (2007).

Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave., on Sunday from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, at 10 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, at Rainbow Blvd and 2nd Street. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
