    Robert F. Batt, age 101, formerly of Tonawanda, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Elderwood at Wheatfield. Born April 18, 1916 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary (nee Fitzpatrick) Batt. He was a decorated Army Veteran of WWII, participating in both the D-Day Invasion of France and the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a self-employed painter and paper hanger in the Tonawandas before retiring and had been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda.
    He was the husband of Delores (nee Behm) Batt; father of Kathleen (the late Richard) Patrick of Lockport and the late Pamela Mae Batt, Robert F. Batt, Jr., and Janet (Jay) Holler. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Susan Batt of San Diego, California; 5 grandchildren, Steven (Barbara) Ford of Highland Heights, Ohio, Douglas Ford of Lockport, Eric (Traci) Ford of Medina, Hannah (Dustin) Carey of South Carolina, and Nicholas Batt of Chicago, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Carolyn, Suzanne, and Allison Ford, all of Highland Heights, Ohio.
    Services will be cared for privately at the convenience of the family with inurnment at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel Columbarium in Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the St. Francis Chapel Fund, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, New York 14150, are preferred.

    A beautiful wedding was solemnized
    on Saturday morning at
    eleven forty-five on the porch of
    tne Ascension church rectory
    when Miss Delores Behm, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Behm of
    178 East Felton street, became the
    bride of Robert F. Batt, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Batt, So.,
    of Lincoln avenue. The Rev
    Father McCarthy officiated in tha
    presence of the immediate families
    and friends using the double
    ring ceremony.
    The bride wore a white bengaline
    taffeta fitted gown with short
    train and sleeves. The gown had
    a row of tiny buttons down the
    back to the waist, a high neckline
    which was fastened at the throat
    with two bows in a row. Her
    scalloped veil of illusion was fingertip
    length and fell in two folds
    from a tiara, in halo effect, of
    tiny pearls. Across the back of
    the headdress was a string of
    pearls which were on the veil of
    her mother's twenty-seven years
    ago. She wore white sandals and
    parried a bouquet of bride's roses
    and white phlox tied with wide
    satin ribbon. The bride also wore
    a two strand necklace of pearls
    the gift of the groom.
    Miss Harriet Batt, sister of the
    groom, as maid of honor, wore a
    pink taffeta gown with a sweetheart
    neckline, short puffed sleeves
    and a bouffant skirt with a short
    train. She wore a tiara of Briarcliff
    roses in her hair, white sandals
    and carried a bouquet of
    pink Briarcliff roses and blue
    delphiniums tied with widt pink
    satin ribbon. She also wore two
    strand necklace of pearls, the gift
    of the bride.
    The groom was attended by Mr.
    Stuart Park as best man. -
    The bride's mother wore a navy
    blue silk printed dresa, having
    a redingote of chiffon of the
    same print. The mother of the
    groom wore a rose crepe dress
    with a short Jacket of the same
    material and color. Each wore
    a corsage of roses and delphiniums
    and matching accessories.
    Mrs. Hulda Urtel, maternal
    grandmother of the bride, wore
    a black satin dress with an over
    dress of black net embroidered in
    white. She wore a corsage of pink
    roses.
    A dinner was served at fourthirty
    in the basement of the St,
    Paul's church in East Felton street,
    with covers for one-hundred
    guests. Covers were laid for fourteen
    at the bride's table which
    was centered with a four-tiered
    wedding cake topped with a miniature
    bride and groom under a
    wedding bell.
    In the evening a reception was
    held at the home of the bride.
    Out-of-town guests present were
    Mr. and Mrs. Walter Batt of Tully,
    N. Y., Mrs. Mathilda Humble of
    Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. Bill Peters of
    North Carolina and also a number
    from Buffalo, Lockport and Niagara
    Falls.
    Mr. and Mrs. Batt left for a
    wedding trip through tha Blue
    Ridge mountains and after August
    26 will be at home in 198
    Bryant street. For her going-away
    outfit the bride wore a black crepe
    dresi with white accessories and
    a corsage.
    Prenuptial showers to honor of
    the bride were a blue and white
    kitchen shower given by Mrs
    Lee Thursam; a Jack and Jill, and
    variety shower by Mr. and Mrs.
    Lee Thursam; a linen shower by
    Miss Ruth Kane of Buffalo; a
    pantry shower by Mr. and Mrs.
    Stephen Eisele, Jr.; a peach and
    blue bathroom shower by Mrs.
    Paul Kolb, Jr., the former Miss
    Lorraine Gee; and a blue and
    white bedroom and personal shower
    by Miss Viola Vogt and Miss
    June Corliss.

    Stricken with a heart attack
    while walking along Thompson
    street near the Erie railroad crossing
    shortly after 2 o'clock yesterday
    afternoon, Eugene A. Batt, 60,
    of 145 Lincoln avenue, died a few
    minutes later. He was taken into
    DeForest Barber's garage and the
    police notified. When the depart-
    ment ambulance arrived Mr. Batt
    had expired.
    Mr. Batt was a lifelong resident
    of North Tonawanda, the son of
    the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Batt.
    He was a member of North Tona-
    wanda Council, Knights of Col-
    umbus, and the Ascension church.
    He was a painter and decorator.
    Employed by the Bell Aircraft
    corporation, he worked nights at
    the Niagara Falls plant.
    Surviving are his wife, Mary,
    nee Fitzpatrick; two sons, Eugene
    A., of Buffalo and Pvt. Orbert F.
    Ball of the U. S. Engineers, sta-
    tioned in England; a daughter,
    Miss Harriet Batt of North Tona-
    wanda; three grandchildren, three
    brothers, Frank and James of
    North Tonawanda and Walter J.
    Batt, Tully, N.Y., and four sisters,
    the Misses Rose and Grace Batt,
    Mrs. Patrick Murphy, all of North
    Tonawanda, and Mrs. Bertha E.
    Bush of Buffalo.
    Funeral services will be held
    Thursday morning at 8:30 from
    the residence and at 9 o'clock from
    the Ascension church. The Rev.

    BATT - Mrs. Mary E. Batt, 79,
    of 206 Traverse Blvd., Kenmore,
    N.Y., died Wednesday (April 24,
    1963) at E. J. Meyer Memorial
    Hospital, Buffalo, after a brief
    illness. Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Batt
    resided in North Tonawanda for
    the greatest part of her life before
    moving to Kenmore nine
    years ago. She was a member of
    the Ladies of Charity of Ascension
    Church and the auxiliary of
    Tonawandas Post 264, American
    Legion. Her husband, Eugene A.
    Batt, died in February, 1944. Surviving
    are a daughter, Mrs. Frank
    Kocsis of Kenmore, with whom
    she resided; two sons, Eugene E.
    Batt of Buffalo and Robert F.
    Batt of Tonawanda; seven grandchildren;
    a great - grandchild, and
    two sisters, Mrs. Rose Cox of
    North Tonawanda and Mrs. Harriet
    Connolly of Buffalo. The family
    will be present 2 - 4 and 7 - 9
    p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home
    Inc., Adam - Seymour Streets,
    Tonawanda, where prayers will be
    said at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed
    by a Requiem High Mass in Ascension
    Church at 9:30. The Rev.
    Francis J. Hunt will officiate. Burial
    in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
