    NIAGARA FALLS —
    Irene (Simpson) McCarthy, formerly of Niagara Falls, died on Monday, April 15, 2013 in Absolut at Aurora Park after a lengthy illness. She was 87. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 1, 1926, the daughter of George and Frances (Bauer) Simpson.
    She was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. After graduation, she began employment with the Carborundum Company where she met her husband, John. He died in 1978. Mrs. McCarthy was employed by Buffalo General Hospital in the Radiology department as a clerk for ten years, retiring in 1989.
    Survivors include four sons, Stephen McCarthy of Buffalo, Gary McCarthy of Buffalo, Bob (Sharon) Pattison of West Seneca, Daniel (Sandy) Pattison of Buffalo; her daughter-in-law, Betty McCarthy of North Collins; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved sons, David and Jerry McCarthy; brother, Jerry Simpson; and sister, Jean Wensley.
    Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM. Interment will be private in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.

    Mrs. Frances Simpson, 29 years old,
    wife of George Simpson, 1512 1/2 Pierce
    avenue, died in Memorial hospital last
    evening, following an operation. The
    funeral will be held from the home of
    her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer,
    1639 Michigan avenue, Friday after-
    noon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Z. E.
    Bates officiating. Burial will be in
    Oakwood cemetery.
    Mrs. Simpson was born in Niagara
    Falls and lived here all her life. She
    attended the Cleveland avenue school
    and was a devoted member of the
    Church of Christ. She had many
    friends in the city.
    Mrs. Simpson is survived by her hus-
    band and three children, George, Jean
    and Irene Simpson. Her parents, Mr.
    and Mrs. John Bauer; four sisters,
    Mrs. Florence Shaughnessy, Mrs.
    George McDonald, mrs. James Steer,
    and Miss Gladys Bauer, and one
    brother, Fred Bauer, all of this city,
    also survive.

    John Bauer. 66 years old. a lifelong
    resident of this city, died suddenly
    early this morning of a heart
    attack at his home, 1639 Michigan
    avenue. Mr. Bauer was a carpenter
    and Independent contractor.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the family home at 2 30 p. m . Tuesday,
    with the Rev. T. E. Tomerlln
    officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood
    cemetery.
    Surviving are his wife. Mrs Ellen
    Bauer; five sons and daughters, Mrs.
    Fred Schotz, Mrs. George McDonell,
    Miss Gladys Bauer, Mrs. James Steer
    and Fred Bauer, all of this city;
    four brothers and sisters, Jacob Bauer,
    of Toronto, Ont.; Mrs. R. Carpenter,
    of Buffalo; Mrs. George Schwenkbeck
    and Mrs. Anna Little, both of
    this city.
    Mr. Bailor was a member of the
    Woodmen of tho World. Lowry Camp
    No. 45; the Carpenters union and the
    old Rapids Hose company at Suspension
    Bridge.

    Conkey, Oshawa, Ont.: the-sister
    of Mrs. Cora Murphy, Robert and

    Funeral services will be held at
    the home Monday at 2 p. m., with
    the Rev. Jesse Simpson. pastor of

    Nicholas Bauer, 84 years old, resident
    of Niagara Falls for 66 years, died
    yesterday at the home of his daughter.
    Mrs. Anna Little, 505 Walnut avenue,
    following an illness of several months.
    Funeral services will be held at the
    Cornell and Daggett funeral chapel tomorrow
    afternoon, the Rev. Arthur H.
    Schmoyer officiating. Burial will be in
    Oakwood cemetery.
    Mr. Bauer was born in Wittenburg,
    Germanyy. He .was a cabinet maker by
    trade," but -had been retired for the
    past 20 years. He was widely known
    and was held in high esteem. Besides
    Mrs. Little, he is survived by two other
    sisters, Mrs. George Schwenkbeck, of
    this city, and Mrs. R. Carpenter, of
    Buffalo, and two sons. Jacob Bauer, of
    Toronto, Ont., and John Bauer, of this
    city.

    Mrs. Susan Harklns Brydges, 90-
    year-old member of a pioneer family,
    died early this morning at her
    home, 1510 Willow avenue, after an
    Illness of two years.
    Born In Niagara - on - the • Lake,
    Ont, In 1851, Mrs. Brydges came to
    Niagara Falls when she-was married
    69 yean ago and had lived
    hers ever since. Her husband, the
    late Frederick W. Brydges, was •
    pioneer In the development of the
    power Industry here.
    She is survived by three sons,
    William H„ of Big Island, Va„ and
    Robert N. and Dick A, of this city;
    and four daughters, Mrs. Ellen
    Bauer, Mrs. Rose Mastln, Mrs.
    Joseph Murphy and Mrs, Louis Kugel.
    all of this city. She is also
    survived by 14 grandchildren. Including
    Earl W. Brydges, widely
    known Niagara Falls lawyer; 34
    great-grandchlldren and one great
    great-grandchild.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the family home at 3:10 p. m,
    Thursday, with the Rev. William P.
    Saye officiating. Burial will be in
    Oakwood cemetery.
