    NIAGARA FALLS — George W. Frost, age 87, formerly of Calkins Rd., Youngstown, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls, NY.

    George was born May 15, 1925 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late E. Russell and Winifred (Watson) Frost. After his graduation from LaSalle High School in 1943, he entered the U.S. Army and served with General George Patton's Third Army, 80th Infantry Division, as an infantryman and as a field lineman, running communications wire. A recipient of three Purple Hearts, George was wounded in action three times during the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy and Rhineland campaigns. One of his Purple Hearts was from the Battle of the Bulge and was personally pinned on him by General Patton. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on October 18, 1945. George completed his education and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in social work. For 30 years he was employed by Niagara County Department of Social Services, retiring as a Supervisor/Case Manager. He and his first wife, Josephine C. (Johnson), had lived in Youngstown since 1956. Josephine predeceased him in 1993. In 1995 he married Norma (Wesel) Frost and they moved to Clifton Springs, NY. George returned here after Norma's passing in 2011.

    He was a member and Past Commander of V.F.W. Lake Ontario Post #313 in Youngstown. George was also very active in politics, serving on the local and county Democratic Committees.

    He is survived by his children, Susan L. (Phillip) Internicola of Amherst, Deborah (Timothy) Lozo of Atlanta, GA, Amy L. (Paul) Incorvaia of Youngstown, and Alan G. (Debra) Frost of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Frey and Patricia Berry.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Wednesday, October 3, from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with Chaplin Gary Terrana officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., WNY Chapter, 315 Alberta Dr., Amherst, NY 14226.

    dress complemented by a
    white velvet hat with blue feathers.
    She carried a colonial bouquet of
    white roses and baby mums.
    Mrs. Dorothy Barber, the bride's
    sister, was the maid of honor an d
    Mr. Charles Gallagher, Utica was
    best man. The reception was held
    at the Niagara County Sportsmen's
    association, 7913 Buffalo.
    Following a wedding tirp, Mr. and
    Mrs. Frost will be at home, 5 Hyde
    Park boulevard. Mr. Frost is at
    present atending the University of
    Buffalo.
