  1. 1.  COULTER, John E was born about 1950 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY (son of COULTER, Leonard and Helen); died on 7 Jan 2020 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    John E. Coulter, 75, of Lewiston, NY, succumbed to esophageal and stomach cancer on January 7, 2020, after a four-year battle. Born in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Leonard “Spike” and Helen Coulter; and beloved husband of Phyllis (Daniels) Coulter, who he married in 1967 at the former Sacred Heart Church.
    John was raised in Barker, NY and graduated from Barker High School in 1962. Following his graduation, he obtained his Associate’s Degree in Machine Design from Erie Community College.
    John was employed by Harrison Radiator Corporation as a Machine Repair Machinist from 1963 until his retirement in 2005, after 42 years of dedicated service. He also served as the Union Steward of the United Auto Workers, acted as their Health and Safety Representative, and as an International UAW Health and Safety Instructor.
    Mr. Coulter was a 40-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston, where he was a board member for 15 years, served as the Hospitality Chairman for the Peach Festival and ran the annual Easter Egg Hunt. He was also a longtime member of the Lewiston Moose Club, Lockport Eagles Club and Lewiston Porter Community Jaycees.
    Mr. Coulter was a Devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Peter’s Church belonging to their Holy Name Society for 8 years and ushering for 4 years. He enjoyed soccer and represented the Niagara Pioneer Soccer Club for over 10 years as a travel team coach, coordinator and member on the Board of Directors. In his later years, he was the score keeper for the Niagara-Wheatfield Boys Soccer Team. He especially enjoyed playing Santa Claus for relatives and friends during the holiday season. Above all, Mr. Coulter was dedicated to his beloved family and community who will miss him dearly.
    In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by three children, Tina (Darren) Pike, John M. (Debbie) Coulter, Tressa (Brian) Majerski; his grandchildren, Angela, John “J.T.”, Cameron and Riley Coulter, Lauren and Jason Pike and Patrick and Josephine Majerski; and his sister, Barbara (Paul) Wheat. He was also the brother-in-law of Russell A. (Lora) Daniels and the late Mary Lou Armstrong; and Uncle to Russell J. and Christopher Daniels, Adrienne (Bob) Cohan, James (Janelle) Armstrong, and Julie and Brian Wheat.
    Visitation will be on Friday, January 10 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 10 A.M., followed by Mr. Coulter’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.
