    Florence Scott Mead, age 90. of Sodus
    Point and Ontario, died Friday.
    Sept. 11. 1998 at Myers Community
    Hospital. Sodus.
    Mrs. Mead was born Dec. 3. 1907 in
    Fair Haven to Arthur W. and Clara
    Brace Scott and graduated from Fair
    Haven High School and Hannibal
    Teacher Training Class. June 2. 1934
    she married Melvin A. Mead in Rochester.
    The couple have lived in Rochester,
    Ontario Center and Sodus Point.
    Mrs. Mead taught elementary school
    in a one-room schoolhouse in Fairdale
    and later was employed at the Shuron
    Optica] Co. in Rochester during the
    1940s and 1950s.
    In her free time, she enjoyed gardening,
    baking and remembering friends
    and relatives with cards and notes on
    birthdays, anniversaries and special
    occasions: She traveled extensively with
    her family and spent many winters in
    Florida. '
    Predeceased by her grandson, Keith
    Yarbrough, she is survived by her husband
    of 64 years, Melvin; three children,
    Suzanne (James) Beachner of
    Webster. Patricia (William) Yarbrough
    of Victor and Robert (Cynthia) of Fairport;
    nine g r a n d c h i l d r e n . Scott
    (Kathleen) Triou of California, Christopher
    Triou of Rochester. Jennifer (Robert
    Key) Bruce of Sodus, Laura Bruce of
    Chicago, IL, William (Meridith)
    Yarbrough of Rochester and Morgan,
    Sean, Brooke and Paige Mead of Fair-
    port; great-granddaughter, Logan Key;
    sisters and brothers; and nieces and
    nephews.
    The Rev. John A. Lake officiated Mrs.
    Mead's Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Mon-
    day Sept. 14 at the Willard H. Scott
    Funeral Home, Webster. Interment was
    at Springbrook Cemetery, Fair Haven.
    Memorials may be made to the Ameri-
    can Cancer Society.

    Mrs. Clara Brace Scott, wife of Ar-
    t h u r S c o t t of this village, passed
    away very suddenly Monday morning
    October 6 about 10 o'clock. She hd
    not seemed to gain sufficient strength
    since the birit of their little dughter
    about four week ago, to be able to
    leave her be. Sunday she complained
    of a pain in her side and then her
    head but was not bad enough to call
    a physician. Monday morning she
    told her husband she wa feeling bet-
    ter before he left for work. She got
    up from bed and feeling faint she
    called to her daughter, Florence, to
    get a doctor, but before he could
    arrive she wa gone. Mrs. Scott wa
    42 years of age and had proven a
    wonderful wife and mother in manag-
    ing for her large family. She was a
    member of the M. E. Church and
    Ladies' Aid Society.
    She is survived by her husband,,
    Arthur, one son and seven daughters,
    the youngest being four week old;
    also by heer parents, Mr. and Mrs.
    Henry Brace; two sisters, Flora Brace
    and Mrs. John Harrison; two brothers,,
    Burt and Fred Brace, all of this vil-
    lage. The bereaved husband and fam-
    ily have the sympathy of the entire
    community. The funeral was ed
    from the home Wedneday afternoon,,
    October 8 at 2 o'clock. Rev. W. C.
    Pittidan officiated. Burial was made
    in the Spring Brook Cemetery.
