    47, of 4818 Lockport Road,
    Town of Wheatfield, died this
    morning (May 17, 1963) at Vet
    eran's Administration Hospital,
    Buffalo, after an illness of six
    weeks.
    He was born in the Town of
    Wheatfield July 20, 1915, the son
    of Jacob and Ella Benthin Bechtel.
    Mr. Bechtel, a carpenter, employed
    by the U.S. Government
    at the Lockport Air Base, was a
    World War II Army veteran.
    Besides his parents, he is survived
    by his wife, Arlene; three
    sons, Wade, Boyd and Loren; a
    daughter, Coleen, at home; three
    sisters, Mrs. Chester Walck, Mrs
    James Lewis and Miss Marion
    Bechtel, all of Sanborn.
    Friends may call Saturday aft
    ernoon at the Pike and Jones Funeral
    Home Inc., Hoover Road,
    Sanborn, where cervices will be
    held Monday at 2:30 p.m. The
    Rev. Kenneth Kolbe will officiate.
    Burial will be in Wheatfield
    Cemetery.

    SANBORN-Jacob Bechtel,
    80, of 3941 Saunders Settlement
    Road, died Monday
    (Dec. 13, 1965) after suffering
    a heart attack in his home.
    Tri ° Community Ambulance
    Service responded to a call
    to the home at about 7:15
    p.m. Dr. Hadjispyros Kosti,
    who also was called, pronounced
    Mr. Bechtel dead.
    Mr, Bechtel had been inl
    failing health for the last six
    months.
    He was born in the Town
    of Lewiston, Aug. 12. 1885,
    and had lived in this area
    throughout his life. He had
    worked as a machine operator
    for the State Highway Department
    for 32 years, retiring
    eight years ago.
    His wife. Ella, died a year
    ago this month and a son,
    Hafley, died in 1963.
    Survivors include t h r ee
    daughters, Miss Marian Bechtel,
    Mrs. James (Ruth) Lewis
    and Mrs. Chester (Gertrude)
    Walck, all of Sanborn; a
    brother, Charles Bechtel, Niagara
    Falls; three sisters,
    Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, Mrs;
    Fred Bond and Mrs. Halvin
    Alcorn, all of Niagara Falls,
    and eight grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 2
    p.m. Thursday at the Pike and
    Jones Funeral Home, Rev.
    Kenneth K o 1 b e officiating.
    Burial will be in Wheatiield
    Cemetery, Shawnee.
    Friends may call from 2 to
    5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the fu
    neral home.

    Bechtel, 72, of 2941 Saunders
    Settlement Road, died Thursday
    (Dec. 17, 1964) at the home of
    her daughter, Mrs. Chester
    Walck, Lockport road, Sanborn.
    She had been ill for several
    weeks.
    She was born Feb. 12, 1892,
    the daughter of Carl and Augus-
    ta Huebner Benthin, and has
    lived all her life in this area.
    She was a lifelong member of
    St. Paul's United Church of
    Christ, Shawnee.
    Besides Mrs. Walck, she is
    survived by her husband, Ja-
    cob; two other daughters, Mrs.
    James Lewis and Miss Marion
    Bechtel, of Sanborn; two broth-
    ers, Charles Benthin of Lock-
    port and Frank Benthin, San-
    born; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Schuler, Sanborn and Mrs. Mar-
    vin A. Miller, Lockport and sev-
    en grandchildren. A son, Har-
    ley died in 1963.
    Friends may call at Pike &
    Jones Funeral Home, Hoover
    Road, Sanborn, where the fam-
    ily will be present from 2 to 5
    and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral serv-
    ices will be held at the funeral
    home at 2 p.m. Sunday, with
    the Rev. Kenneth H. Kolbe of-
    ficiating.
    Burial will be at Wheatfield.

    N. Y., husband of the late Augusta
    Hubner Benthin, died Sunday,
    March 9. He is survived by
    six daughters, Mrs. Benjamin
    Werth, Mrs. Jacob Bechtel, Mrs.
    Arthur Schuler, Sanborn; Mrs.
    Marvin Miller, Lockport; Mrs.
    William Mielke, Bergen, N. Y.
    and Miss Minnie Benthin at home;
    three sons, John and Frank Benthin
    of Sanborn, and Charles Benthin
    of Lockport; and thirteen
    grandchildren. Funeral services
    will be conducted from the late
    residence in Shawnee Wednesday
    at 3 p.m. and from St. Paul's
    Church, Shawnee at 3:30 pjn. The
    Rev. Theodore Mayer of North
    Tonawanda will officiate. Burial
    will be in Shawnee cemetery.

    SHAWNEE, June 17.-Mrs. Augusta
    Benthin, 73 years old, wife of Carl
    Benthin. retired farmer of the Shawnee
    road, died at the family home here
    yesterday. She had been in ill health
    for some time.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the home on Friday afternoon at 2
    o'clock, standard time, and at 2:30
    from 8t. Paul's Lutheran church here.
    Interment win be in Shawnee cemetery.
    Mrs. Benthin was born to Germany
    but had resided in this country for
    over 50 years. For 28 years they operated
    a fram on the Saunder's Settlement
    road before coming to Shawnee.
    In former years she was an active
    member of St. Paul's church.
    Besides her husband, Mrs. Benthin
    is survived by the following children:
    Mrs. Benjamin Werth, Mrs. Jacob
    Bechtel, Mrs. Arthur Schuler and
    Frank Benthin, all of Cambria,
    Charles and John, both of Shawnee,
    Mrs. William Mielke. of Bergen, N. Y,
    and Minnie and Molly Benthin, at
    home. Fifteen grandchildren also
    survive.
