    Elizabeth married BECKER, Arnold William on 6 Jul 1945 in Merritton, Ontario, Canada. Arnold (son of BECKER, William A and SCHUL, Pauline Caroline) was born on 17 Apr 1923 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 22 Mar 2008 in Hudson, Pasco County, FL. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Decorated with summer flowers,
    St. Andrew's church^Merrltton, Ont.,
    was the setting for the marriage on
    July 6 of Elizabeth, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs. Thomas Cowan, to Corporal
    Arnold Becker, son of Mrs.
    Pauline Becker. 1810 Ontario avenue
    this city. The Rev. R. B. Milroy
    officiated at the ceremony.
    Given in marriage by her father,
    the bride wore white brocaded organza
    with a fingertip veil held by
    a spray of white flowers. Her ornament
    was a gold necklace with a diamond
    pendent. She carried a large
    bouquet of red roses and white
    sweet peas.
    Miss Mary Cowan, sister of the
    bride, was the maid of honor, wearing
    a gown of pink net with matching
    calot and veiL Mrs. Calvin Jones,
    sister of the bridegroom, and Miss
    Eva Suckling were bridesmaids, the
    former in yellow lace and the latter
    In orchid. The flower girls were
    Mary Margaret Legue and Shirley
    Ward, with Identical gowns of
    lemon-lime organdy and a daisy
    hair bandeau. All the attendants
    carried colonial bouquets.
    Mr. Calvin Jones was the best
    man and the ushers were Mr. Glenn
    Powell and Private Andrew Cowan.
    Mrs. H. Rapsey played the wed-
    ding music. A solo, "Because," was
    rendered by Mrs. S. Tiffney.
    After the ceremony a reception
    was held at the Merritton Legion
    hall, at which there were 75 guests.
    The bride chose a lime and white
    ensemble for her going-away costume.
    They are spending their
    honeymoon at Long Beach, Ont. On
    their return the bride will make her
    home with her parents while her
    husband Is on active service with the
    U.S.Army Air corps in the Pacific.
    Corporal Becker has just returned
    from 18 months service with the
    15th Air corps in Italy. Mrs. Arnold
    Becker has just been honorably dis-
    charged from the Canadian Wom-
    en's Army corps after 2-1/2 years'
    service.
