    Mrs. Mary, wife of John Williams died
    Sunday Morning, May 1st,. aged thirty-eight years.
    Mary Zeiger-Williams was bonn in La-
    Salle, and has always been a resident of this
    town, and a greater portion of her life of
    this village. In 1872 she was married to Mr.
    J. Williams, and has proven an affectionate
    wife and loving mother. For the past two or
    three years she has been suffering from ill
    health, but her health was improving and
    her ultimate recovery was believed certain.
    Saturday she was about her accustomed duties
    and retired at her usual hour with the
    remark that she had not felt better in a long
    time. Sunday morning about six o'clock
    Mr. Williams observed that.her breathing
    was somewhat labored, but thinking her
    asleep did not attempt to arouse her. One
    hour later he again awoke to find that she
    had passed away without a struggle. The
    physicians pronounce the immediate cause
    of her'death a difficulty with the heart caused
    by her disease. Her life has always been
    one worthy of emultation, and she leaves to
    sincerely mourn her loss a husband, son and
    daughter, father and mother, three brothers
    and four sisters besides a host of friends.
    The funeral will be observed from St. Peter's
    Church this afternoon.

    Louis Zeiger. Sr., died at his residence on
    Falls street, Wednesday morning, Oct 26,
    1887. in the sixty-eighth year of age.
    Mr. Zelger was born in Bischheim near
    Kirchbeimbolanden, Rheinpfalz Baiern,
    Germany, January 4th; 1820. In 1845
    he' was married .and in the spring of
    1848. left Germany, for this country, arriving
    hero April 20. In connection with his father
    he purchased a farm at La Salle, fifty
    two acres being his portion. This, land
    he cultivated until 1866, when he came into
    the village and opened a grocery On Main
    street, in the building now occupied by A.
    Simon. In 1869 he returned to his farm
    and remained till 1881, when he a second
    time established a grocery business in the Utz
    block on Falls street. He very soon after
    purchased the property adjoining the Utz
    building on the east, and a few years later
    completed the building now known as Zei-
    ger's Hotel. About ten years ago he suffered a
    severe attack of dropsy, followed by abcess
    ot the liver, from the effects of which he
    never fully recovered, although, aided by his
    son, he has been able to carry on his business.
    On-Friday last he caught a very
    severe cold and during a fit of coughing
    he ruptured a blood vessel near his
    lungs. He passed a very comfortable day
    yesterday, and last evening felt that he was
    improving.- Early this morning-his-throat
    and lungs seemed to be filling up and at 7:15
    he passed quitely away. He leaves a widow,
    three sons and four daughters, all
    grown up besides a large circle of friends to
    mourn his loss The funeral service will
    be held from the family residence on Saturday at 1 p.m.
