NEWFANE — Elizabeth J. Devole, age 65, of the Town of Cambria, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, after a brief illness.

Elizabeth was born September 29, 1947 in Olean, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie (Schultz) Smiley and lived here most of her life. On October 8, 1966, she married Glenn A. Devole who predeceased her on June 26, 2007. Elizabeth was an Assembly Line Operator, employed by GM Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 2002.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending the winters there at her home. She was very involved in her grandchildren's lives and was especially an avid fan of their sporting activities.

She is survived by her children, Glenn A. Devole, Jr. of the Town of Cambria; and Linda (Thomas) Thompson of Burt, NY; her grandchildren, Scott and Taylor Devole; Kaitlyn, Thomas and Michael Thompson; three brothers, Duane (Kathy) Smiley of Syracuse, NY; Thomas (late Priscilla) Smiley of Rantoul, IL; and James (Pam) Smiley of Wilson. She was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Johnson.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Duke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. BUFFALO, July 17.-Funeral ser
vices for the Rev. Joseph Schulz,
pastor emeritus, were held Tuesday
at Emmanual Lutheran church, Buf-
falo, with the Rev. Mr. Mueller of-
fciating.
The Rev.. Mr. Schulz was born in
Bergholtz 75 years ago and was or -
dained in the ministry at Holy
Ghost Lutheran church in 1899. He
later served congregations in Mis-
souri and Nebraska. His retirement
in 1926, due to ill health, brought
him and his family back to Pekin,,
where they made their home until
1942. Since then he had lived in
Buffalo and Olean.
He became ill on May 24 and
died on July 10. Surviving are five
sons, five daughters, 12 grandchil-
dren, a sister and three brothers.
The Rev. Mr. Koenig conducted
the burial services at St. Andrew's
Lutheran cemetery at Pekin.

Joseph married HOPFER, Emilie Annie on 1 Oct 1903 in NE. Emilie was born on 28 Aug 1880 in Perry, Ralls County, MO; died on 16 Aug 1941 in Pekin, Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
