    NIAGARA FALLS — Helen E. (Szczes) Richwalder, 92, peacefully slipped from this life November 1, 2012, surrounded by her family and under the wonderful care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, July 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria (Ciesielski) Szczes and the wife of the late Emil Richwalder. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered most for her love of family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking walks, was an avid baker and attended church regularly.

    She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Richwalder of Niagara Falls, NY; Janice (Tim Carr) Richwalder of the Town of Wheatfield, NY; son, Emil Richwalder of Wolcott, NY; grandchildren, Alex (Amanda), Adam, Jonathan, Zakery, Emily (Kyle) and Allison (Josh); great-granddaughter, Kendra Jay. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, John and Stanley; sisters, Stephania, Ida, Frances, Sophie, Stella, Jane, Dorothy and Cecilia.

    There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Sts., with Reverend Jacek Mazur officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
