    LOCKPORT - M. Evelyn Renna, a kind, gentle soul of Lockport, NY, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, at home, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on April 7, 1920 in Heflin, AL, she was the daughter of William Henry and Icie C. Harris Grubbs. She was a retired sales clerk working at Sears and lastly, Cordays. She was a volunteer at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, and member of St. Joseph's Church She loved her family, flowers and enjoyed singing, telling stories and laughing. She was an inspiration and brought joy to all that knew her.

    Wife of the late Angelo M. Renna; mother of Ida R. (William) Quade of Lockport, Anthony (Sharon) Renna of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, and Michael J. (Carol) Renna of Lockport; grandmother of A. Stephen (Kimberly) Renna, Jonathan M. (Keri) Renna, Heather Pollock, Sarah Renna and Rachel Renna; great-grandmother of Samantha Renna, Christian Renna, Elizabeth Tall, Briana Renna and the late Nicholas Renna; sister of Christine Beecher, the late Edna Ayers, the late Latnae Payne and the late Mallory Grubbs, and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call on Tuesday 3:00-7:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave. Funeral services will be private. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc. or The Alzheimer's Association.

    In ill health for some time, Mrs.
    Murtie B. Heroy. 73, of 40 Beattie
    Ave., died Sunday morning, (June
    1, 1958) in Lockport Memorial
    Hospital.
    Born April 27, 1885 in the Town
    of Newstead, Erie County, she was
    the daughter of the late Calvin and
    Elizabeth Fletcher Bedford, and
    the wife of John E. Heroy. a retired
    rural mail carrier. Mrs.
    Heroy was a member of the Ladies
    Auxiliary of the National
    Rural Carriers Assn. and a former
    member of the Block Methodist
    Church.
    A son. Donald, of Lockport, also
    a rural carrier survives.
    Friends may call from 2 to 4
    and 7 to 9 at the Prudden k Kandt
    Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St.,
    where funeral services will be conducted
    Wednesday afternoon at
    3 30 by the Rev. Ritchard E. Ly
    on. pastor of First Baptist Church.
    Burial wltt be in Chestnut Ridge
    Cemetery.
