    TOWN OF NIAGARA —
    Lillian L. (Holland) Roszel, longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was 92. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Albert and Amalie (Strassburg) Holland.
    She attended local schools and then worked for many years as a nurses aide at several hospitals, retiring from Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Roszel was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a member of the Niagara Active Hose Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She dedicated much of her life to helping others including taking the time to help raise her daughter Gail's two children, Mark and Jimmy.
    Mrs. Roszel is survived by two sons, Claire (Jeri) and Ronald (Grace) Roszel of Jacksonville, FL; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Roszel (1995); and her daughter, Gail Linnane (2004).
    There will be no prior visitation and services will be held at a time to be announced.

    Illness Fatal to Albert A. Holland
    Ill two months, Albert A. Holland, 70, a retired carpenter, died yesterday at his home, 1058 Ninety-first street. Born In the Town of Cambria, September 22, 1876. Mr. Holland came to this cjty 45 years ago. He was employed as a carpenter oy the Hooker Electrochemical company for 27 years, retiring In 1939. Surviving are four sons, George Holland, of Denver, Col., Clarence, Harold and Edgar Holland and a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Roszel, all of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Rase Frey of Ransomville. Mrs. George Jackson and Mrs. Thomas Poorman, and two brothers, Herman Holland, of this city, and Elmer Holland of Buffalo. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the home and a half hour later at the Zton Evangelical Lutheran church. Cayuga drive and Munson avenue. The Rev. George Hoyer, retired and former pastor of the church, and the Rev. Lawrence E. Hurferth. pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

    Mrs Albert H. Holland Dies At Home Here
    Mrs. Amalie F. Holland, 64, wife of Albert H. Holland, 1058 Ninety First St, died at her home this morning after an illness of 5 months. She was a native of Bergholtz, NY and has resided here more than 60 years. Besides her husband, Mrs. Holland is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Roszel, of this city; four sons, Clarence, Harold and Edgar Holland, of this city, and Sergeant George Holland, of Fort Myers, Fla.; her father, Henry E. Strasburg, of North Tonawanda; six brothers, Edward. Albert, George, Walter, Harold and Benjamin Strasburg, all of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Gath. of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Lydla Philips, of this city. Eleven grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the family home Wednesday afternoon, with services at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Cayuga drive at 2 o'clock, the Rev. George F. Hoyer. officiating. Interment will be made in Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Mrs. Lydla Augusta Strasburg, 77
    years old, wife of Henry E, Strasburg
    and a lifelong resident of this city,
    died at her home, 1119 Eighty-ninth
    street, last night, after an illness of
    six months. Funeral services will be
    held from the family residence at 2
    p. m. Wednesday and from the Zlon
    Lutheran church, Cayuga drive, at
    2:30 p. m., with the Rev. George
    Hoyer oflfclating. Interment will be
    In St. Matthew's cemetery in Martinsville,
    N. Y,
    Surviving her. besides her husband,
    are six sons and three daughters. Edward

    Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strassburg celebrated their golden wedding at the
    parish house of the Zlon Lutheran church. La Salle. About 100 persons, members
    of the congregation and friends, of the couple-partook of a dinner which
    was the feature of the celebration. The interior of the parish house was attractively
    decorated in white and gold and yellow roses were on the tables.
    Mr. and Mrs. Strassburg were married on January 22, 1880, in Bergholtz. by
    the Rev. Mr. Welnbach, and resided for a short time on the Niagara Falls
    boulevard. For the last 35 years they have lived in the La Salle section. Their
    descendants number six sons, three daughters, 27 grandchildren and one great
    grandchild.
    At the dinner guests were present from this city, Lcckport, the Tonawandas,
    Town Line and Buffalo. The Rev. Mr. Hoyer briefly addressed, the assemblage
    after which a hymn was sung. A large bouquet of daffodils was presented to Mr.
    and Mrs. Strassburg by the Ladles Aid society of the church.
