    Robert Edward May, age 73, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Gasport, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Born June 23, 1942 in North Tonawanda, Bob is the son of the late Edward T. and Florence (Neumann) May.

    Bob married Janice Thursam June 23, 1962 at Friedens United Church of Christ in North Tonawanda. They have been married for 53 years. Bob was the Vice President of Pivot Punch Corp where he worked for 43 years retiring in August of 2003. After retiring, Bob and Jan moved to Florida, coming home in the summer where they stayed at the Niagara-Hartland Campground. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of the North American Punch Manufacturers Association, Marco Lutheran Church, former member of the Gasport Lions Club and former President and member of the Enchanting Shore Co-op.

    Surviving Bob is his loving wife Janice May; and his dear children, Michele May-Tomkinson of Cocoa, Fl., Brad (Paige) May of Newfane and Cameron (Angela) May of Barker. Grandfather of Karyssa, Kaylee, Rachel, Mateo, Natalia, Macie, Milayna and Trevin. Great grandfather of KaeShaan and Karriana. Bob is also survived by his sister: Joan Smith LaTona of Caddo Mills, TX and a niece, Debra Smith-Peluso of Clarence.

    Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Avenue, Gasport, NY on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1 - 2 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm from the church with the Reverend Rod Klinzing officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Zion Lutheran Church.

    Miss Thursam will graduate this month from North Tonawanda
    High School. Mr. May is a graduate of Tonawanda
    High School and in September will be graduated from the
    Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. No date is announced

    was solemnized Saturday in Friedens United
    Church of Christ.
    the Rev. Carl Marks performed
    the candlelight, double ring ceremony
    before an altar enhanced
    with white gladioli and chrysanthemums
    and candelabra.
    Mrs. James Thiele was the
    soloist and Miss Mildred Fischie,
    organist, for the ceremony.
    The bride wore a white peau de
    soie gown designed with a fitted
    bodice, buttoned at the back and
    designed with three-quarter petal
    sleeves and a circlet neckline outlined
    with Almcon lace. The floor
    length petal skirt was accented
    with a front panel of lace and a
    pleated back terminating in a
    chapel length train. Enhancing
    the back of the waistline was a
    pouff bow and wide streamers appliqued
    in lace and re-embroidered
    with pearls and sequins. Her
    lonffant veil of silk illusion was
    caught to a headpiece of lily-of
    the-valley,, pearls and peau roses.
    She wore a strand of pearls, the
    gift of the bridegoom, short white
    gloves and white peau slippers.
    Given in marriage by her father,
    she carried a cascade of white
    roses, carnations and lily-of-the-
    valley.
    Miss Sharon Zipp was the maid
    of honor wearing a sky-blue street
    length sheath of cotton satin fashioned
    with a circlet neckline,
    short petal sleeves and a shorter
    petal front pleated overskirt of
    cotton lace lined in blue. She wore
    a matching double bow headpiece
    and veil and white accessories
    and carried a cascade bouquet
    of pink roses and carnations.
    Mrs. Gerald Smith, the bridegroom's
    sister was the matron of
    honor and Miss Kathleen Batt, the
    bride's cousin was bridesmaid.
    Their ensembles were identical to
    the maid of honor in blue cloud
    hue. They carried cascade bouquets
    of pink roses and white carnations.
    The Misses Debbie and Tammy
    Smith, nieces of the bridegroom,
    were flower girls. They
    wore gathered skirt dresses of
    sky blue shade and blue and
    white foreget-me-not headpieces
    with matching bows at the back
    and carried baskets of mixed pastel
    flowers with blue streamers.
    William N. Haas was the best
    man and Gerald Smith, the
    bridegroom's brother-in-law and
    Anthony Dragotta of Buffalo
    were ushers.
    The bride's mother wore a turquoise
    silk organza Shiffli embroidered
    skirt sheath dress with
    white accessories and a white
    phalaenopsis orchid corsage. The
    bridegroom's mother chose a
    beige silk organza sheath dress
    with white accessories and a
    green cymbidium orchid corsage.
    The bride's grandmother, Mrs.
    Bernhard Thursam, wore a gold,
    cocoa: and' willow print georgette
    crepe dress with a corsage of yellow
    roses and beige accessories.
    The attendants' flowers, tapers
    and a wedding cake enhanced the
    bridal table for the reception in
    North Amherst Fire Hall.
    Mr. and Mrs. May motored to
    the Focono Mountains, the bride
    wearing a yellow and white pinstripe
    cord suit, white accessories
    and a yellow cymbidium orchid,
    as a going - away costume. They
    will be at home in 230 Miller St.,
    North Tonawanda after July 1.
    Preauptial parties for the bride
    were given by Mrs. Robert F.
    Batt and Miss Batt; Miss Zipp;
    Mrs. Walter Neumann, Mrs. Clar-
    ence Neumann, Mrs. May and
    Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Hugh Swain and
    Mrs. Fred E. Poeller, Mrs.
    George Joyes and Miss Cheryl
    Thursam. The bridegroom's parents
    entertained after a rehearsal
    Thursday. The party also celebrated
    their son's birthday.

    Mr. Thursam was a lifelong
    resident of North Tonawanda
    and a former
    employee of Chevrolet, retiring
    in 1974 after 24 years
    of service.
    He is survived by his wife,

    daughter, Mrs. Robert E.

    Williamsville; three grandchildren,

    Born in the township of Cam-
    bria, he had lived in this city the
