    LOCKPORT — Georganne (Alvers) McAvoy, December 2, 2012, at home, after a lengthy illness, with her loving family at her side, while under Niagara Hospice. Born August 25, 1947, she was a daughter of the late George William Alvers and Pauline Anne (Schotz) Alvers of Wilson.

    Georganne attended local schools and attended Trott Vocational where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She met Michael McAvoy in 1966, and they married in 1970. Georganne was an LPN at Newfane Inter Community Hospital until she retired in 1987, worked at the Ransomville Nursing Home, Summer School Nurse at BOCES, Dr. Huges' office in Wilson, and ran an after school program for home work at Wilson School.

    A member at Exley where she sang in the choir, she later joined Our Lady of the Rosary and enjoyed knitting, reading, sporting events and spending time with family.

    Surviving, besides her husband and mother, are mother-in-law, Emily (late Gerald) McAvoy; daughter, Shannon (William) Santana of Wilson; son, Brennan (Connie) McAvoy of North Tonawanda; three sisters, Mary Ellen (Dan) Foster of GA; Patty (Joe) Paprocki of TX; Pam Basil of GA; a brother, Paul (Darlene) Alvers of Wilson; grandchildren, Ryan, Annalysse and Evan McAvoy; Kiernan, Alex and Manon Santanna; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia (John) Nicolosi of Rochester; Barbara (James) Oliphant, Gerald (Diane) McAvoy, Anne (Peter) Oliphant, all of Lockport; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be at the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson, Tuesday, Rosary at 6:30, and 7-9 PM; Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayer services will be Thursday 10 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Brendan on the Lake Wilson. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Wilson Free Library.

    Pauline Anne Alvers, 97, of Wilson, NY, was called home to our Lord on January 31, 2023.Pauline was born on March 7, 1925 to Howard & Eva Schotz in Niagara Falls, NY. She was their first child and the first grandchild in their family. Pauline spent her young adult years on their Willow Road farm in Wilson. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1943. Pauline married George Alvers, her soul mate, and lived at their family homestead at 323 Warren Street in Wilson, NY. Her family meant everything to her and her words were always punctuated with an I Love You. She was a true reflection of God’s heart. Her family and friends will always remember her for her devotion to God, and for her love, strength and compassion. Pauline was a long time member of the Exley Methodist Church where at 82 years old, she formed the Quilters of Exley group that provides quilts to Hospice and the VA. Pauline was predeceased by her husband George Alvers, her daughter Georganne McAvoy, and her granddaughter Jenna Basil. She is survived by Mary Ellen Foster, Paul Alvers (Darlene), Patricia Paprocki (Joe), Pamela Basil, and 13 grandchildren: Shannon McAvoy, Brennan McAvoy, Scott Paprocki, Joel Paprocki, Daniel Foster, Jamie Andrews, Erica Anastasia, Lauren Ericks, Jeffrey Foster, Nick Alvers, Morgan Cochran, Keersten Basil, Savannah Basil and 21 great grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. 14131 on Friday February 3, 2023 from 3PM to 7PM. A church service will be held at Exley United Methodist church, 338 Lake St, Wilson, NY 14172 at 10AM on Saturday February 4, 2023.

    Mrs. Alvers, a licensed realtor,
    had operated a real estatae
    business in this community.
    She was born May 30, in
    Castile, N.Y„ the daughter of
    Ezekiel and Abiguil Hutchinson
    Billings. She married
    George William Alvers in 1915
    and moved here.
    She is survived by a daugh-
    ter, Mrs. Mildred Remball,
    Kinderhok, N.Y., a son, George
    W. Alvers, this community,
    two sisters, Mrs. Howard
    Houghton, Perry, N.Y., Mrs.
    Lillian Ziems, Buffalo; two
    brothers, Frank Billings,

    Hamilton and Clark Funeral
