Eleanor Louise Belknap
Babcock, 66, of St. Augustine,
Fla. and Skaneateles Lake,
died Feb. 26,2006 after a seven
year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in
Skaneateles and was a graduate
of the Skaneateles School
System and Syracuse University
College of Fine Arts.
Eleanor married and moved
to Nashville, Tenn. in 1960. She
retired as a secretary and treasurer
of Babcock and Williams
and Royal Elm Properties.
Eleanor, beginning in 1992,
lived part time in St. Augustine
to be closer to her grandchildren.
She was an active gardener,
boater, and wonderful grandmother
who loved to travel the
world.
She was a member of the
Hermitage Rachel Jackson
Garden Club, Las Adelfas Garden
Club of St. Augustine, Antique
and Classic Boat Society,
Antique Boat Museum, and
Donelson Presbyterian
Church where she was an El-
der.
She is survived by her husband,
Donald E. Babcock; son,
Brook K. Babcock (Kit); granddaughter,
Hannah of Nashville,
Tenn.; daughter, Tina Miles
(Charlie); grandchildren, Gene
and Jennifer of St. Augustine;
sister, Kay Rice (Gene) of
Marcellus; one niece and four
nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Evelyn and
Roscoe Belknap, and brother,
Jimmy Belknap.
A memorial service was held
at Donelson Presbyterian
Church.

Calif., last Saturday in a double
ring ceremony at the First Presbyterian

Mrs. C. Eugene Rice, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor.
Miss Julie-Ann Clark was maid
of honor.
Lawrence C. Mitchell, Jr., was
best man. Ushers were James R.
Belknap, brother of the bride.
Thomas C. Shepard, William Sanford,
and Charles Ritchie. Stephen
Robinson, brother of the bridegroom,
was ring bearer.
A reception was held at Springside
Inn, Auburn, after which the
couple left for a. Lake Placid
honeymoon.
Mrs. Babcock is a senior at Syracuse
University. Mr. Babcock is a
graduate of the University of the
State of New York at Morrisville.

Mr. Roscoe R. Belknap,
70, of 1416 East Genesee
Street Road, Skaneateles,
died Sunday evening, Feb-
ruary 7, 1982, in Auburn
Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Conquest
and had resided in
Skaneateles most of his life.
He was a retired foreman
for Stauffer Chemical
Company in Skaneateles.
He is survived by: his
wife, Mrs. Evelyn Clark
Belknap; a son, James R.
Belknap of Marcellus; two
daughters, Mrs. Frances
(Kay) Rice of Marcellus and
Mrs. Eleanor B. Babcock of
Nashville, Tenn.; a brother,
Dorsel Belknap of
Melbourne Beach, Fla.;
three sisters, Mylissa
Dreythaler of Marcellus,
Mrs. Madeline O'Brien and
Mrs. Addie Coggen both of
Skaneateles; seven
grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday at
the Robert d. Gray Funeral
Home, Skaneateles. Rev.
Dr. Stephen A. Kish will
officiate.

p.m. at the funeral home, 49

known resident of Montezuma,
died Wednesday morning at the
home of his daughter, Mrs Morris
Burgduff, in Savannah.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva
Cartner Belkap; seven sons, Emmett,
Clarence, Roland, Keith.
Dorsell, Roscoe and Paul, all of
Auburn; four daughters, Mrs.
Morris Burghduff of Savannah;
Mrs. Louis Dreythaler of Fort
Plain, Mrs. John O'Brien of Owasco
and Mrs. Herbert Coogans of
Skaneateles Falls.
Funeral services will be held at
2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon
at the home of the daughter,
Mrs. Burghduff, in Savannah. Interment
will be in Spring Lake
Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva Belknap, widow of
Melvin Belknap, died Sunday
morning at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John O'Brien, RD, Skaneateles,
where she had made her
home for several years.
Born in the town of Conquest,
she had lived in this section nearly
30 years. In 1921 she moved here
, from Savannah.
She is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Morris Burghduff of
Savannah, Mrs. Mylisa Dreythaler
of Auburn, Mrs. Herbert Coggen
of RD, Skaneateles. and Mrs.
O'Brien; six sons, Emmett Belknap,
Syracuse. Roland Belknap,
Cayuga, Keith Belknap. RD, Skaneateles,
Dorsell Belknap, Auburn,
Roscoe Belknap, RD, Skaneateles,
and Paul Belknap. RD, Skaneateles;
eight grandsons, 13 granddaughters,
11 great-grandchildren,
an one brother, Clarence Cartner
of Savannah.
Services will be held at 1 p. m.
Tuesday at the residence of her
daughter. Mrs. John O'Brien. The
Rev. Stanley P. Jones, pastor of
Owasco Reformed Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Spring
Lake Cemetery, Conquest.
Friends may call at the home of
Mrs. John O'Brien Monday afternoon
and evening at their convenience.

Albert R. Clarkt 83, of E Genesee-
Rd., Skaneateles, died Friday
(March 8, 1963) following a
long illness.
Born in England, Mr. Clark
was a resident of the town for
mare than 50 years. He was an
electrician on the Auburn-Syra*
cuse Railway until it was shut
down in 1929, after which he op-
erated a gas station on Route
20. He retired in 1957.
Surviving him are his wife,
Mrs. Louise Harse Clark; two
daughters, Mrs. Argarete Hares
and Mrs. Roscoe Belknap; three
sons, Alfred J., and George R.
and Carl H. of Skaneateles, nine
grandchildren and several great-
grandchildren.
