    Notes:

    Paul L. Ciesielski  of Sanborn, NY, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.  He was born in  Buffalo, NY,  on October 10, 1936, the son of the late Thaddeus and Clara[Kurek]  Ciesielski.
    Paul  grew up on "Long Acres" which is now Tan Tara in Pendleton and worked on the family farm. He graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1954.  He was employed with Spaulding Fiber,  Buffalo Bolt,  Roblin Steel,  Shell Oil,  Ashland Oil,  Arco,  Atlantic before retiring from Sunoco in 2004.
    Paul helped his longtime friend Don Walck on his farms and could be found helping out his family and friends with various projects and yard work in his spare time.
    He enjoyed boating, car racing, snowmobiling and country music.
    Paul will be dearly missed.
    He is survived by his wife of  37 years,  Elizabeth A. [Cramb] Ciesielski, a daughter Lynn (Jim) Potenziano, a son Matthew P. (Jen)  Ciesielski, six grandchildren Faith, Noah, Sara, Matt, Jr., Taylor & Kendra,  also many nieces & nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Adele (Edward) Leffler, Florence (Harold) Berry & Ted (Lucy) Burkley.
    His family will be present on Sunday From 3-7PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Ernest Green, III officiating.
    Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.
    Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

    of their daughter, Kathleen Marie, to Paul L. Ciesielski, son

    High School and Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. Mr,

    The bride wore a white peau de
    soie gown, detailed with chiffon
    velvet. Pearls accented velvet
    trapunto embroidery edging the
    portrait neckline. A velvet peplum
    trimmed the back of the gown.
    A half-hat of pearl trimmed Alen-
    con lace held her veil and she
    carried a cascade of white carna-
    tions and ivy.
    Miss Ellen Schauer was maid
    of honor. Miss Penelope Stephens
    and Miss marla Goerss were the
    bridesmaids. The flower girl was
    Miss Dianne Berry, niece of the
    bridegroom.
    They wore magenta satin frocks
    styled with circlet necklines and
    bouffant, bell-shaped skirts caught
    to a matching satin rose at the
    back. All carried white Fuji chrysanthemums
    and red roses.
    David Roberts was best man.
    William Held, Robert Berry and
    Ted Burkley ushered. Mrs. V. J.
    Hohmann sang
    The bride's mother favored an
    emerald green brocade dress with
    matching accessories. Mrs. Cie-
    sielski selected a raspberry col-
    ored brocade dress with match-
    ing feathered hat and accessories.
    Both had corsages of sweetheart
    roses.
    The reception was at the Amer-
    ican Legion Hall, Tonawanda Aft-
    er a vacation in Miami, Fla., the
    couple will be at home at 292 Del-
    aware St., Tonawanda

    NORTH TONAWANDA — Marie Goerss Burtch, age 90, of North Tonawanda, passed to see her Jesus while at Crestwood Health Care Facility on January 10, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Fred Burtch; one daughter, Kathleen (William) Starkweather of Endwell, NY: two grandchildren, Lynn (James) Potenziano of Binghamton, NY; Matthew (Jennifer) Ciesielski, of DeWitt, IA; six great-grandchildren, Kendra and Taylor Potenziano, Faith, Noah, Sara and Matthew Jr. Ciesielski; one brother, Gene (Margaret) Goerss of North Tonawanda; predeceased by brothers, Kenneth, Merritt and Dennis Goerss. She is also survived by two step-sons, John (Bettie) Burtch and Tom (Nancy) Burtch; step-grandchildren, Steven and Michael Burtch.

    Marie worked in the attendance and guidance office at Sweet Home High School for 12 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the DeGraff Hospital Auxiliary and the North Tonawanda Senior Citizens.

    There will be no prior visitation but friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Private burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Park. If desired, memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, 210 John Glenn Drive #3, Buffalo, NY 14228-2213; or First United Methodist Church, 65 Main Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.

    Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Arenz
    of 292 Delaware St., Tonawanda,
    will be honored on their
    golden wedding anniversary tomorrow.
    Hosts of a special dinner party
    at the Downtowner Motor Inn
    will be sons, Walter and David,
    and their wives.
    Mr. Arenz and the former Carrie
    B. Lindemann were married
    Sept. 3,1917, in First Presbyterian
    Church, Syracuse, N.Y., by
    the Rev. David R. Jones.
    Their honor attendants were
    Mrs. Oscar R. Clayton, who will
    arrive from Syracuse to attend
    the party, and the late Dr. Clayton.
    Mr. and Mrs. Arenz have been
    lifelong residents of the Tonawandas
    except for two short periods
    when they lived in Newark,
    N.J. and Harbor Springs, Mich.
    Mr. Arenz was a shipbuilder
    during World War I, interior decorator
    in Harbor Springs, employe
    of Roy Arenz Motors in
    North Tonawanda, and upon retirement
    in 1959, had worked
    many years in the service sales
    department of Twin City Auto
    Co., Buffalo.
    Mrs. Arenz is an accomplished
    organist and was organist-choir
    director of the Broad Street Baptist
    Church many years.
    They take great pride in their
    home, which is over 100 years
    old and have done all the remodeling
    work inside.
    Great enthusiasts of water,
    they do much boating on the Niagara
    River and Erie Canal in
    a cruiser.
    Mr. Arenz has made dozens
    of beautiful needlepoint articles,
    "while watching television in the
    winter," including five organ

    bench covers. Mrs. Arenz knits
    for her family.
    Each year, they travel to
    Connecticut to visit David and
    his family in Milford. They also
    have taken tripe to Florida, California
    and Oregon.
    Walter resides in Kenmore.
    They also have two grandchildren,
    David Arenz and Kathleen
    Ciesielski, and one great-granddaughter,
    Lynn Marie Ciesielski.

    Wilmer C. Goerss, 56, of 1301 Pierce Ave., died Tuesday in his home after a long illness. He was a life long resident of the area and for 26 years was a proprietor of a dairy in North Tonawanda. He was a member of Friedens Church. Surviving are his wife Cora, nee Boyer; four sons, Merrit, Rochester; Kenneth, North Tonawanda; Eugene and Dennis at home; a daughter, Mrs. Walter N. Arenz, Kenmore; three grandchildren; four brothers, Ezra and Gerhardt, North Tonawanda; Waldemar, Cleveland; the Rev. Daniel Goerss, Pittsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Gust Reichert, North Tonawanda; Mrs. Edwin Wendt, Niagara Falls. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the residence. The Rev. Carl E.     Cora E. (nee Boyer) Goerss, 91, of North Tonawanda, Sunday (March 9, 1986) at North Gate Manor Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, ahe was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship of the church. Wife of the late Wilmer C. Goerss and mother of the late Merrit Goerss.
    Mrs. Goerss is survived by three sons, Eugene (Margaret) Goerss and Dennis (Ellen) Goerss, both of North Tonawanda, Kenneth Goerss of the Town of Tonawanda; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Marie) Burtch of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Wagner of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Amanda Wolgast of Lockport. Grandmother of eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call Monday and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, Inc., 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Friedens United Church of Christ, the Rev Thomas E. Hardy officiating. Interment White Chapel Memorial Park.
