    night at Emergency Hospital's Burn
    Treatment Center in Buffalo from
    burns suffered in an industrial
    accident.
    The Niagara County Sheriff's Department
    said Bendt was working at the
    Noury Chemical plant in Burt when a
    small amount of chemical exploded
    last Wednesday.
    He was taken to Newfane Intercommunity
    Hospital for initial
    treatment and then transferred to
    Buffalo.
    No one else was hurt in the
    explosion,

    at 4 o clock, October 28th at
    the home of the groom's sister, Mrs.

    of Bergholtz officiating. The
    wedding march was played by Mrs.
    Elmer Crutts of Hartland and Mrs.
    Fred Bendt sang "O Promise Me."
    The ceremony took place beneath an
    arch of white wound with myrtle nnd
    the house was decorated with cut
    flowers of the fall.
    The bride was gowned In white
    crepe with taffeta and pearls and her
    shower bouquet was of bride roses
    and lilies of the valley. She was attended
    by Miss Florence Wattengall
    as honor maid, wearing pink crepe
    with rhlnestones and carrying pink
    Premier roses, with the groom's sister,
    Miss Evelyn Bendt, as bridesmaid,
    wearing peach crepe with
    Spanish lace and rhlnestones, and
    her flowers were also Premier roses.
    Lois Budde of Cambria was the
    flower girl and carried a basket of
    ferns and Snapdragons, while Howard
    Bendt attended his brother as best
    man and Alfred Strutting acted as
    usher. The bride's gift to her maids
    were rhinestone bracelets and to her
    flower girl a string of pearls while
    the groom presented his attendants
    with cuff links.
    Some 140 guests were present for
    the dinner, twelve being at the bridal
    table. Dancing followed the music
    being furnished by De Fabbio of this
    city.
    Mr. and Mrs. Bendt will reside in
    Wilson.

    WILSON, April 20-Mr. and Mrs.
    Rudolph Bendt of the Shadigee
    road. Wilson, were pleasantly surprised
    on Tuesday evening when
    their children and grandchildren
    gathered at the home of Mr. and
    Mrs. Arthur Hausman to celebrate
    their golden wedding anniversary.
    The dining room was decorated in
    gold and white, with a large white
    bell suspended over the center of
    the table. At seven o'clock an elaborate
    dinner was served. The table
    was centered with a bouquet of yel
    low and white flowers, with a three
    tiered wedding cake decorated In
    gold at each end. The evening was
    spent In playing cards and bingo.

    Farmer in Bergholz Kills Self
    John J. Hoffmeister, 66, Takes Life By Shooting Himself in Abdomen With Shot Gun-Found By Son
    John J. Hoffmeister, 66 years old, committed suicide yesterday afternoon at his home on the Niagara Falls boulevard near Bergholz by shooting himself in the abdomen, with a shot gun. Hoffmeister's act was attributed to a long siege of illness. He had been a sufferer from rheumatism.
    Hoffmeister and his son, Arthur Hoffmeister, lived alone on their farm. The son returned to the house late in the afternoon from working in a field on the farm and found his father dead in the summer kitchen at the rear of the house. He had placed the butt of the gun against the wall and the muzzle against his abdomen and then pulled the trigger with his toe. The son last saw his father alive at noon.
    Life Long Resident
    Hoffmeister was a life-long resident of Bergholz. He is survived by four sons, Arthur and Benjamin and Alvin Hoffmeister of Lewiston and Harvey Hoffmeister, a World war veteran, who is being treated at the United States Navy hospital, Brooklyn, for a broken back, sustained in a fall from an apple tree over a year ago at Cambria, and one daughter, Mrs. William Bendt of Bergholz.
    The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost cemetery.
