    LOCKPORT, Aug. 11-Samuel
    T. Argue, 89, of 342 South street
    who for 38 years was a member of
    the Hides and Tallow firm of Argue
    and Wilde at 7-9 Ray street died
    yesterday at his home, 342 South
    street, after an illness of four
    months.
    Born April 7, 1864 in Kitchener,
    Ont., Mr. Argue came to this city
    as a young man and was first employed
    at McKim foundry. He then
    worked for Louis Vedt in the Hides
    and Tallow store which he later
    purchased under the firm name of
    Argue and Wilde.
    Mr. Argue formerly served as
    a deputy under Sheriffs James A.
    Campbell and Ralph Irish both of
    Niagara Falls. He was a member
    ol Unity lodge, 90, IOOF, a past
    grand marshal and past district
    deputy of Niagara county. He also
    served as chief patriarch of Niagara
    Union encampment, captain of Canton,
    Niagara, No. 7, and was a
    member of the major general staff
    of the state of New York, Patriarch
    Militant. He attended Plymouth
    Congregational church.
    Surviving are his wife Lillian
    Argue, a daughter, Mrs. Edward
    Benedict. Rocky River, O., a son,
    Willard Pencille, Lockport; two
    sisters. Mrs. Charles Finley, Mrs.
    Thomas Wiles, both of Lockport.
    Services will be held Thursday
    at 2 o'clock at the Prudden funeral
    home. 242 Genesee street. Burial
    will be in Glenwood cemetery.

    for Mrs. Lillian Argue, 73, one of
    the founders of the Association of
    Ladies Auxiliaries, Patriarchs Militant,
    IOOF. and holder of the Decoration
    of Chivalry Degree,' the
    highest award given for outstanding
    service to Odd Fellowship, will
    be held tomorrow at 3 o'clock at
    Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home.
    Burial will be made in Glenwood
    Cemetery.
    Mrs. Argue, widow of Samuel T.
    Argue, a former deputy under
    Sheriffs James A. Campbell and
    Ralph Irish, was born Aug. 28,
    1880, in the Town of Wilson,
    daughter of the kte Christian Cumrow
    and Augnste Michaelis Cumrow.
    She was a member of Plymouth
    Congregational Church.
    In.fraternal circles,° Mrs. Argue
    spent most of her life In the services
    of Patriarch Militant Auxiliaries
    throughout New York State.
    She assisted in the institution of
    manv of these auxiliaries and was
    lhe fifth president of the LAPM,
    Department of New York.
    Surviving Mrs. Argue, who died
    Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in
    her home. 342 South St.. are a son.
    Willard W. Pencille. Lockport, and
    a step daughter, Mrs: Edward Benedict,
    Rocky River, O.

Jan. 5 - Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Hellert 86, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Argue, in Lockport. on New Years eve, were held from the Argue house at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon and at 2 30 o'clock from Trinity Lutheran church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Herman Meier, pastor of the church, o'flcietlng. Beautiful flowers and the large concourse of relaMve*. neighbors and fripnds showed the love and esteem In which she KM held Burial was in St. Peters' Lutheran cemetery at North Ridge Surviving are the daughter Mrs Argue, of Lockport. and one son. Frank Cumrow. of Miami Fla . two step-daughters. Mrs. Jennie Morrison, of Indiana Mrs John Behm. of Lockport, and five stepsons. William Hellert. of Ohio: Andrew Hellert. of Mlddleport. N Y.
