    Garrett Ave., who died
    Saturday (April 8, 1972) in
    Mount St. Mary's Hospital
    after a one-week illness.
    Mrs, Ritter was born in
    Niagara Falls, the daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. George Benedict
    of this city. She was a member
    of the Insurance Women's
    Association and St. Teresa's
    Church.
    Besides her parents she is
    survived by a daughter, Mary
    Ann; a son, Kevin, both at
    home; two sisters, Mrs.
    Stanley (Dorothy) Pietak, this
    city and Mrs. John' (Donna)
    O'Brien, Reisterstown, Md.;
    four brothers, William, Robert
    and David Benedict, all of this
    dty, and George Benedict,
    Detroit, Mich.
    Funeral services will be held
    at. 9 a.m. Tuesday at the
    Hardison Funeral Home,
    lewiston, and at 9:30 a.m. at
    St. Teresa's Church, Niagara
    Falls. Burial will be in St.
    Mary's cemetery.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9
    p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
    p.m. Monday at the funeral
    home.

    Cleveland avenue, announce the
    engagement of their daughter, Mary
    Eileen, to Mr. Charles Nordln Bitter,
    son of Mr. and Mrs Burr H.
    Bitter, Lewiston road.
    Mr. Bitter is a graduate of De
    Veaux school and attended Cornell
    university, Ithaca.
    He was in the air force service
    for five years. At present he is employed
    at Moore Business Forms,
    Inc.
    Miss Benedict and Mr. Bitter are
    planning to be married the middle
    of July.

    In a setting of garden flowers, a

    lovely summer wedding took place
    this morning at 11:30 o'clock In the
    rectory of sacred Heart church.
    when Miss Mary Eileen Benedict
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    George Allen Benedict, Cleveland avenue,
    became the bride of Mr. Charles
    Nordin Ritter, son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Burr Howard Ritter, Lewiston road.
    The Rev. Francis L. Schwartz offi-
    ciated.
    Given in marriage by her father,
    the bride was lovely in a gown of
    white dotted swiss fashioned with
    a high neckline, fitted bodice and
    cap sleeves. Her small hat of white
    straw was trimmed with tulle and
    white flowers. She carried a colonial
    bouquet of white carnations.
    Mrs. Stanley Pietak, sister of the
    bride, was matron of honor.
    Mr. John Howard Ritter was his
    brother's best man.
    A wedding breakfast at Liddells'
    Lewiston, for members of the imme-
    diate families followed the cere-
    mony.
    Later today the couple will leave
    on a motor trip through the New
    England states, the bride travelling
    in a pink gabardine suit with white
    accessories and a corsage of gar-
    denias. After July 15, Mr. and Mrs.
    Ritter will be at home at 531 Sev-
    enth street.

    Jan. 8, 1919. .
    Mr. Benedict, who operated
    a grocery store in the North
    End section of the city for
    .several years, retired from
    the Hooker Chemical Co. in
    1963. °
    The couple has seven children.
    They are William Benedict,
    Mrs. Charles Ritter. Mrs.
    Stanley Pietak, Robert Benedict,
    David Benedict, Mrs.
    John Michael O'Brien. Maryland,
    and George Benedict
    Jr.. Detroit. Three children,
    Karen Benedict. Beverly
    Benedict and Paul Francis
    Benedict, are deceased.
    Mr. and Mrs. Benedict also
    have six grandchildren. A
    grandson. Paul Pietak, an
    Oblate seminarian, took part
    in the Mass offered this morning.
    Members of the family honored
    the couple at a dinner
    party Saturday at John's
    Flaming Hearth Restaurant.

    RANSOMVILLE - A retired
    farmer, Allen J. Benedict, 84, died
    this morning at his home in the
    Randall Road, Town of Wilson.
    Born in Ellicottville, Mr. Benedict
    moved to the Town of Royalton
    when he was 11 years of age, com-
    ing to the Town of Wilson 45 years
    ago where he operated a farm. He
    retired about 10 years ago.
    Surviving are three daughters.

    Mary Benedict, at home, Mrs. Dayton
    Hardison. Ransomville. and
    Mrs. Charles Goetz, Niagara Falls;
    two sons. Roy Benedict, at home;
    George Benedict. Niagara Falls and
    a sister. Mrs. Charles Manchester,
    Lockport.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the family home Thursday at 3:30.
    with internment in North Ridge
    Cemetery.

    RANSOMVILLE. Nov. 22-Funeral
    services for Mrs. Frances E. Benedict,
    74, who died at her home in
    the Randall road Sunday afternoon,
    will be held Wednesday afternoon
    at the home at 2 o'clock. Burial
    will be made in North Ridge cemetery.
    Mrs. Benedict had been ill for
    several weeks as the result of a
    stroke.
    Born in Gasport, Mrs. Benedict
    had made her home most of her
    life in the vicinity of Ransomvllle.
    She was a member of the Methodist
    church and was active in the Alberta
    Mothers' club.
    Besides her husband, Allen J.
    Benedict, she is survived by four
    daughters, Mrs. Dayton Hardeson,
    Ransomville; Mrs. David Hann and
    Mrs. Paul Goetz,, Niagara Falls;
    and Mary Benedict, Ransomvllle;
    three sons, George, Niagara Falls;
    Carl, North Ridge, and Roy, Ransom
    ville; two sisters, Mrs. George
    Dunn, Buffalo; Mrs. John Squires,
    Rochester, and a brother, Fred
    Austin, Gasport.

    Thomas King, 65 years old. former
    employe of the Lehigh Valley
    railroad, died at Mount St. Marys
    hospital this morning, after a brief
    Illness. He resided with his daughter,
    Mrs, George Benedict, at 1113
    Ontario avenue, and is slso survived
    by another daughter. Mrs. Neil
    Burns, and eight grandchildren.
    Mr. King had lived here for 35
    years. After leaving the employ of
    the Lehigh Valley several years ago,
    he worked for the city until he was
    taken ill. He was a member of
    Lowry Camp, No. 45, Woodmen of
    the World.
    Plans for the funeral were being
    completed this afternoon.
