    SANBORN —
    Eugene G. "Gene" Miller, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. He was born in Madera, PA, on May 30, 1931, the son of the late Clifford and Lucinda (Stoddard) Miller.
    Mr. Miller graduated from Divine Word High School in Girard, PA, and attended Divine Word Seminary (SVD) from 1948 until 1953. He served with the US ARMY for two years, stationed in Germany. Mr. Miller received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Niagara University in 1956 and his Master's in Education from the University of Buffalo in 1972. He taught German at Hobart College in Geneva and the University of Buffalo. Mr. Miller was a Professor of English and German at Niagara County Community College for 24 years, before retiring in 1993 as a Professor Emeritus. Mr. Miller had two National Endowments for the Humanities to study German at Tufts University in Boston and rhetoric at the University of California at Davis. He also published two books, Writers and Philosophers and a Sourcebook of Philosophical Influence in Literature. After his retirement he kept up with his daily reading, writing and love of the arts.
    Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 52 years Roseanne (Beningo) Miller; three sons, Scott E. Miller of Niagara Falls, NY, Brett E. Miller of Las Vegas, NV and Curt E. Miller of Lockport, NY; one brother, Joseph Miller; and one sister, Suzanne (Marvin) Treichler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patrick and Gregory Miller and Connie McMicking.
    The family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, with the Rev. Joseph P. Badding officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Divine Word Missionaries, P.O. Box 6099, Techy, IL 60082-6099. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

    Frank Beningo, 61, of 2021
    Grand Ave., died unexpectedly
    Friday (March 5, 1971) in
    Memorial Hospital, Hollywood,
    Fla., after he was stricken by
    an apparent heart attack while
    vacationing there.
    A native of Wishaw, Pa., Mr.
    Beningo came to this city in
    1935 and was employed by the
    Hooker Chemical Corp. for 36
    years as a maintenance man.
    He was a member of Hooker's
    25-year Club.
    He is survived by his widow,
    Rose (Archer) Beningo; and by
    four daughters, Mrs. Albert
    (Patricia) Campana of - the
    Town of Niagara, Mrs. Eugene
    (Rose Ann) Miller of Sanborn,
    Mrs. Thomas (Frances) Wolffe
    of Dunkirk and Miss Nancy
    Beningo, at home.
    Also surviving are six
    brothers, Samuel, A n t h o n y ,
    Joseph and James Beningo, all
    of Niagara Falls, Ralph Beningo
    of Detroit, Mich., and
    Thomas Beningo of Hollywood,
    Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. John
    (Josephine) Teixiera, this city,
    and Mrs. Anthony ( R o s e)
    Traunce of'Port Chester, N.Y.;
    and nine grandchildren.'
    Funeral services will be held
    at the M.J. Colucci Funeral
    Chapel Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
    and at Our Lady ° of Mount
    Carmel Church at 9:30. a.m.
    Burial. will be in Gate of
    Heaven Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the
    funetal home from 7 to 9 p.m.
    Sunday and from 2 to 5 and
    7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
    The family requests that
    memorials be made to the
    Niagara County Heart Chapter.
    Recitation of prayers will be
    at the funeral chapel Monday
    at 8 p.m.
