Charles Bender, a resident of Niagara
Falls for 29 years, died yesterday
afternoon in his home, 710 101
street- He was 71 years old and a native
of Alden. N. Y. Funeral services
will be held Saturday afternoon at
1:30 o'clock in the Bell Funeral
Home, 635 Mala street, with the Rev.
E. A. Harding officiating. Burial will
be In Oakwood cemetery,
Mr. Bender was a carpenter by
trade but bad retired from active
work nine years ago. He bad been in
falling health for some time past but
the illness that resulted in his death
was brief.
Surviving Mr. Bender are his wife,
Mrs. Catherine Bender, two sons,
Clarence and Ralph, and a daughter,
Mrs. Lillian Lloyd, all of this city.
Several brothers and sisters also sur-
vive. They are: Mrs. Catherine Ben-
son, Mrs. Anna Clark and Mrs. Jo-
sephine Mittelberger, all of Buffalo;
Mrs. Caroline Schwartz, Tonawanda;
Nicholas Bender, Buffalo, and Ed-
ward Bender, Rochester.

Charles married OLD, Catherine about 1887. Catherine (daughter of Marguereta) was born in Sep 1868 in Canada; died on 14 Jan 1947 in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. BENDER, Clarence C was born in Dec 1890 in New York; died on 31 Mar 1953 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.
2. BENDER, Lillian L was born in Feb 1892 in New York; died on 9 Apr 1939 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.
3. BENDER, Ralph R was born on 26 Jul 1894 in New York; died on 11 Feb 1965 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY.
