NIAGARA FALLS — Herbert John Luffman, age 66, of Niagara Falls, entered into rest suddenly on April 6, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Wheatfield. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 15, 1946, he was the son of the late William and Dorrine (Knox) Luffman. John was a graduate of Erie Community College, earning an associate's degree in drafting. He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1964-1967. John was a member of the VFW in Niagara Falls and enjoyed bike riding and going for walks. He was employed as a carpenter with Local 289 in Niagara Falls, until his retirement.

Survivors include a son, John W. Luffman of Niagara Falls; a sister, Marjorie J. (Carmen) Granto of Niagara Falls; his former wife, Beverly (Dier) Luffman; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Luffman; sister, Janet P. Wodo and brother, Ronald J. Luffman.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, April 12 at 7:00 PM in the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, with the Rev. Michael A. Keicher officiating. A private interment will take place in Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Town of Lewiston.

NIAGARA FALLS — Ila "Dorrine" (nee Knox) Luffman, March, 28, 2012, age 90. Loving wife of the late William E. Luffman. Adored mother of Marjorie J. (Carmen) Granto, Herbert John Luffman and the late Janet P. (late Alfred) Wodo, and the late Ronald J. Luffman. Sister of the late Ray (Leah) Knox and the late Stanley V. (Erica) Knox. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

No prior visitation. Friends are invited to a funeral service Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials made to the American Cancer Society.

Elizabeth (nee Thomson) Dier McKenzie, 92, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her residence, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on November 4, 1922 in Stevenston, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late William and May (Cook) Thomson. On December 25, 1941, she married Clarence A. Dier. He predeceased her on April 5, 1972.

Betty, as she was known to family and friends, came to Niagara Falls at the age of five. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. For thirty-five years, Betty was employed as a Nurses Aide for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church on Ward Road in North Tonawanda as well as Order of the Eastern Star. Betty had also served as President and Vice President of the McKenzie Club. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and knitting.

Betty is survived by five children, Elizabeth (Karl) Blair, Marge Cirillo, Beverly Luffman, Robert (Chris) Dier and Marilyn (late Ted) Szpara; six grandchildren, Ken Holt, Ann Cirillo, Kris Gedeon, John Luffman, Shannon Bland and Karolyn Blair; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special cousin, Darlene Hathaway, who was Betty's constant companion in her last days and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by one granddaughter, Jennifer Luffman and two brothers.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th at 10:00 a.m. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
