    Monica, to Sgt. Archie Smith, Jr.,
    son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Smith
    of 171 Grove street. Sgt. Smith is
    with the U. S. Army, and is serv-
    ing overseas.

    One of the loveliest of the

    Winter weddings wis that of Miss
    Monica Louise Berhalter, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. William Berhalter,
    344 Payne avenue, to Archie
    Emroy Smith, Jr., son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Archie Smith of 273
    Grove street, on Saturday morning
    February 9th, in Ascension church.
    The double ring ceremony was
    performed by the Rev. Francis
    Hunt at 9 a. m., before an altar
    adorned with white gladioli and
    palms.
    Mrs. Charles Kelly sang during
    the mass.
    Given in marriage by her father
    the bride was lovely in a traditional
    white satin peplum gown.
    The bedice was fashioned with
    deep yoke of net with a high neckline
    and long litted sleeves coming
    to points over her wrists and
    the net flare skirt over satin
    fell into a train. Her fingertip
    veil was held in place with a
    coronet of pearl orange blossems
    and she carried a mother of pearl
    Prayer Book adorned with an
    orchid.
    Miss Margaret Roche, the
    bridesmaid, was her only attendant.
    She was charming in
    powder blue chiffon. The fitted
    bodice was made with a smocked
    voke, high neckline, long full
    sleeves and a full gathered skirt.
    She wore a tiara of matching net
    in her hair and carried a bouquet
    of nink roses and baby breath.
    The groom was attended by
    Durwood Covert as best man,
    and the ushers were Duane Krause
    and Glenn Gurnett.
    Mrs. Berhalter, mother of the
    bride, chose a black two-piece
    dress made with three quarter
    length sleeves and an aqua embroidered
    jacket. She wore matchaccessories
    and a corsage of gardenias.
    Mrs. Smith, mother of the groom
    was attired in black with white
    trim and she wore matching accessories
    and a corsage of gardenias.
    Immediately following the ceremony
    a wedding breakfast was
    served in the home of the bride's
    parents, to the bridal narty, Father
    Francis Hunt and Father Alton
    LaRusch and immediate families.
    The Berhalter home was beautifully
    decorated with Spring flow-
    ers for the occasion.
    In the early afternoon a recep-
    tion was also held at the bride's

    home. Buffet refreshments were
    served to 150 guests form a lace
    covered table centered with a
    three tiered wedding cake adorned
    with a miniature bride and
    groom.
    Later in the evening Mr. and
    Mrs. Smith, Jr, left for a short
    wedding trip to Canada the bride
    traveling in a biege gabardine
    suit, black accessories and an orchid
    corsage. Upon their return
    they will be at home in Tremont
    street.
