    Methodist Church, Belmont,
    when Miss Marcia
    E. Frick became the bride
    of Lawfence J. Bernat
    Saturday (Aug. 29, 1959).
    The Rev. Rollin T. Campbell
    officiated at a doublering
    ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. James W.
    Frick, Belmont, and the
    bridegroom is the son of Mr.
    and Mrs. Lawrence A. Bernat,
    Michigan Ave.

    GIVEN IN MARRIAGE by
    her father, the bride wore a
    gown of white satin, princess
    style, fashioned with a
    tulip neckline and long pointed
    sleeves.
    She wore a diamond and
    pearl necklace, the gift of
    . the bridegroom, and carried
    a white Bible covered with
    v/hite feathered carnations,
    ivy and white ribbons. Her
    waist-length veil was caught
    by a white satin tiara.
    Miss Melissa Frick, sister
    of the bride, was maid of
    honor wearing a rose nylon
    gown styled similarily to the
    bride's.
    Miss Suellen Frick, also a
    sister of the bride, was
    gowned in an identical dress
    of hyacinth-blue. Both attendants
    c a r r i e d colonial
    bouquets of blue asters and
    pink sweetheart roses, and
    wore matching flower headpieces.

    RONALD MANLEY was
    best man. and Ernest Rodak
    an attendant. The ushers
    were Edwin L. Baker, Grand
    Island, uncle of the bride,
    and Thomas Kyle, Belmont.
    After an evening reception
    at St. Michael's Hall, Niagara
    Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Bernat
    left for a wedding trip to
    the Finger Lakes.

    Lawrence Bernat Sr., a
    Niagara Falls fireman ill since
    September, died in Memorial
    Medical Center Sunday (Nov.
    19, 1970). Mr. Bernat, 61, of 2937
    Michigan Ave., had worked with
    the fire department since 1943.
    He had received a citation
    from the New York Division
    of Fire Safety and was a mem-
    ber of the New York State Fire
    Fighters Association.
    During his career, Mr. Bernat
    worked at three firehalls, 10th
    Street, Walnut Avenue and 72nd
    Street. He also worked part
    time at Wyne's Petroleum Ser-
    vice.
    President of the board of
    tyrustees of St. Michael's Polish
    National Catholic Church, Mr.
    Bernat was one of the original
    planners of the construction of
    the new church and parish hall
    buildings.
    Born in Niagara Falls in May,
    1909, Mr. Bernat attendned Holy
    Trinity Parochial School and
    Niagara Falls High School. He
    was a member of the American
    National Red Cross First Aid
    to the Injuried and of the Polish
    National Church's Young Men's
    Society of Resurection.
    He was awarded a Mr.
    Woodman plaque in 1965 by the
    Woodmen of the World, Camp
    211, of which he was a member.
    Mr. Bernat is survived by his
    wife, the former Emelia
    Pontlik; two sons, Richard and
    Lawrence Bernat Jr. of this
    city ; three daughters, Miss
    Judith Bernat of this city, Mrs.
    Richard (Betty) Golaszewski of
    North Tonawanda and Mrs.
    Thomas (Rose) LaSalle of Fair-
    port; a sister, Mrs. Frank
    (Catherine) Kirchue and two
    brothers, Richard and Steven
    Bernat, all of this city, and
    sever grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the
    Chester G. tubinis Funeral
    Home and at 10 a.m. at St.
    Michael's Polish National
    Catholic Church. Burial will be
    in St. Michael's Cemetery.
    Woodmen of the World Camp
    211 will conduct memorial
    services Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
    at the funeral home, followed
    at 7:45 by recitation of prayers
    by the Young Men's Society of
    Resurrection and at 8 p.m. by
    revitation of prayers by the
    Rev. Thaddeus Dymkowski.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home today and
    Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7
    to 9 p.m. Tribute may be made
    to the Memorial Fund of St.
    Michael's Polish National
    Catholic Church, the family
    said.
