Frank P. Berndt, 62, of 376 Thompson
street died yesterday at his
home. A life long resident, he was
formerly employed for many years
as a millwright at the Carborundum
plant at Niagara Falls.
He Is survived by his wife, Elvlna:
two sons, Herbert and Norman, of
this city; three brothers, John and
Ernest, of this city, and Edward, of
St. Catharines, Ont.
Last rites will be held at the Wattengel
funeral home, 307 Oliver
street. Monday at 2 p. m. The Rev.
Paul H. Gassman will officiate. Interment
will be in Friedens cemetery-

NORTH TONAWANDA, April
14-Mrs.. Alvina, Berndt, 67., of
376 .Thompson ,St. died yesterday
at her home. Mrs. Berndt was
born in the Town of Wheatfield
and was the widow of Frank
Bernat. Surviving are two sons,
Herbert and Norman Berndt, both
of this city; two brothers, Fred
Pokelwaldt, Medina, and Herman
PokelwaIdt,this city; a sister, Mrs.
Anna Heineman, Clarence. Funeral
services will be held Thursday at
2 p.m. at the Wattengell Funeral
Home with the Rev. Carl E Berges
officiating and interment in Friedens
Cemetery

Ferdinand Berndt, aged 58 years, died
his home at 3:45 o'clock this morning.
He is survived by a wife and eight children.
The funeral services will be held
Monday. The deceased was the father
of Ernest Berndt, who was recently arrested
in Chicago as an accomplice of
Goerke in the incendiary fire cases of the
East vear. and who is expected to arrive
ome"to-morrow. It is the prevailing opinion
that the young man's disgrace is the
cause of the father's death, but this is
denied by the family, who attribute the
cause to heart disease. Berndt was apparently
in good health yesterday and was
on the streets as usual. His death was
unexpected. He was a shoemaker and had
lived in North Tonawanda 14 years.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Berndt, 70 years
old, a well-known resident of North
Touawanda died at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Frank Murch at No.
122 Keil street, yesterday. She was
born in Germany and had lived in
North Tonawanda about 36 years.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Murch,
five sons. Paul Berndt of Cambria
Edward F. Berndt of Niagara Falls
and John W., William and Frank
Berndt of North Tonawanda, survive.
The funeral will be held from the
Murch home on Keil street at 2:30
o'clock on Friday afternoon, the Rev.
E. A. Schulz officiating. Burial will
be made in the Frieden's church cemetery
at Sawyers creek.
