    Vera H. (Bassler) Bullard, 91, of Lockport, NY - wife of the late Claude W. Bullard entered into rest on Thursday, July 14, 2022.  She was born on September 14, 1930 in Somerset, NY to the late Clyde and Minnie Bassler. 
    She graduated from Newfane Central School in 1948, married Claude W. Bullard on July 15, 1950, worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport from 1970 to 1988.  Vera was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church and the UAW.  She loved to read and work in the garden.
    Surviving are daughters Susan (Richard) McKie, Nancy Bartow; Grandchildren Stephen (Christine) McKie, Christopher (Jennifer) McKie, Roslyn (Ryan) Rinaldo and Amber (Trey) Alvarez.  Also, her great-grandchildren Emma, Megan, Benjamin, Madison and Lily McKie, William and Evelyn Rinaldo, and Logan Alvarez.  Also survived by special niece, Ann Schermerhorn and special nephew John (Jenny) Bassler, and several other nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Bassler, and former sister-in-law Wanda Bobzien. She was predeceased by a son, William C. Bullard; brothers Kenneth, Keith and Clifford Bassler; sister-in-law Gloria Bassler; niece Diana Welch.
    Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 4-7pm. A Funeral service will be held on in Concordia Lutheran Church 3121 Beebe Rd. Newfane, NY. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.

    American beauty roses and ferns decorated Trinity Luth-
    eran Church Saturday afternoon at 1:30 for the marriage of
    Miss Vera* Bassler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bassler of
    Newfane, and Claude Bullard. ton of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bul-
    lard of Newfane. The Rev. Herman Meier performed the cere
    mony.
    Escorted by her
    father, the bride
    shose a white
    Slipper satin
    gown fashioned
    with fitted bodice,
    long sleeves point-
    ed at the wrist and
    bouffant skirt
    falling into a
    chapel length
    train. Her finger-
    tip veil of illusion
    was caught to a
    coronet of seed
    pearls. White
    satin ribbon tied
    her colonial bou-
    quet of white
    roses and carna
    tions.
    Miss Brenda
    Bobzlen of Burt
    was maid of
    honor In a gown
    of Nile green
    taffeta with
    matching picture
    hat and mitts.
    She carried a
    colonial bouquet
    of yellow roses
    and carnations
    tied with yellow
    satin ribbon
    Miss Doris Bullard of Newfane
    was bridesmaid in a pink gown
    similar in style and material to
    that of the maid of honor. She
    carried a bouquet of pink roses
    and white carnations tied with bllue
    satin ribbon.
    Best man was Tiny Bullis of
    Lewiston and Keith Basser of New-
    fane and Clarence Bailey of Cor-
    win ushered.
    The bride's mother was attired
    in a Navy blue print dress and hat
    while the groom's mother wore a
    Navy crepe gown with lace bodice
    complemented by white acessories.
    Joan Smith and Doris Stout sang
    "The Lord's Prayer" and "Because".
    After a reception to 100 guests
    the couple left on an Eastern trip,
    the bride wering a white crepe
    dress and accesories. On their re-
    turn the couple will live on South
    street.
    Both the bride and groom at-
    tended Newfane High School and
    Mr. Bullar served as a sergeant
    in the Army for two years in the
    European Theater.
    Guests attended from Lockport,
    Lewiston, Burt, Olcott, and Barker.
