Rd., Lockport died Sunday, March
12, 1961 at the Lockport Memorial
Hospital. He is also survived
by two brothers, John Berndt Jr.
and Thomas Berndt His grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. George
Leising. Swormville, and Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Berndt, Royalton
Graveside services were h e ld
Monday at 2:00 P.M. The Rev.
Lavern Keibler officiated. Interment
was in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Swormville

RAPIDS-Herbert J. Berndt, 67, of 6725 Moy'er
Road, Town of Royalton, died today (Oct. 29, 1966) in
Lockport Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He retired in 1963 from
Simonds Saw and Steel Co.
here where he had been a production
worker for 23 years.
He also farmed on his property.
A lifelong resident here,
Mr. Berndt was born Feb. 8,
1899, to Edward and Mary
Renslnk Berndt. He was a
member of Rapids Volunteer
Fire Co.
Surviving are his widow,
Mrs. M a r g a r e t Tanner
Berndt; a son, J o h n E.
Berndt; six daughters, Mrs.
Raymond Nayman, Mrs. Roger
Miller, Mrs. Donald Wruck,
all of this city, Mrs. Wayne
Bobszier, Burt, Mrs. George
Wolcott, and Miss Mary
Berndt. at home; a sister.
Mrs. Michael Brant, living in
Canada, a n d 14 grandchildren.
Services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gaul
Funeral Home by Rev. James
Burdick. Evangelical United
Bretheren C h u r c h , Rapids.
Burial w i l l be in Chestnut
Ridge Cemetery

86, formerly of 132 State Road,
Lockport, died Thursday (March
23, 1961). He was the father of
Mrs. Michael Brant of Tonawan-
da and Herbert J. of the Town of
Royalton. Also survived by 14
grandchildren, 22 great - grand-
children and one great-great-
granddaughter. Friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. at
the Gaul Funeral Home Inc., 263
East Ave., Lockport, where the
funeral will be conducted at 2
p.m. Saturday. Interment in
Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
