    Berndt, 73, died Saturday morning
    (Dec 6, 1969) at his residence,
    372 Broad St., Tonawanda.
    Born in Arnprior, Ont.
    Mr. Berndt had resided in
    Tonawanda 52 years.
    He was the husband of the
    late Marion Groffenberger
    Berndt. He is survived by
    three daughters, Miss Mary
    Ann Berndt and Mrs. Charles
    (Eilene) Dalton, and Mrs.
    Richard (Betty) Papoi of Denison,
    Tex.; one son, Walter W.
    Berndt; seven grandchildren;
    two brothers, Arthur R. and
    Julius F. Berndt, and a nephew,
    Gerald Berndt, all of
    Tonawanda.
    Mr. Berndt was a member
    of Grove Street Christian
    Church. He was a committeeman
    of Troop 570, Boy Scouts
    of America; assistant district
    commissioner of the Greater
    Niagara Frontier Council, BSA.
    He was a merit badge counselor
    and was a member of
    the Order of Arrow, Lodge
    159; Tonawandas Post 264,
    American Legion; and was a
    50-year member of Electric
    City Lodge 663, IOOF. He
    was a retired employe of Weber
    Service Station.
    Friends may call from 2
    to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
    Hilliard Funeral Home Inc.,
    147 Delaware St., Tonawanda,
    where services will be held
    Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., the
    Rev. Donald L. Gardner officiating.
    Interment in Mt. Olivet
    Cemetery. Memorials may be
    made to Grove Street Christian
    Church.
    Memorial services will be
    conducted at the funeral home
    this evening by Troop 570,
    Boy Scouts of America at 7
    p.m., Tonawandas Post 264 at
    7:30 p.m. and the Odd Fellows
    service at 8 p.m.

    Berndt, 372 Broad St., Tonawanda,
    died unexpectedly Wednesday
    (July 5, 1961) in Kenmore Mercy
    Hospital. She was born in Buffalo
    and had resided in Tonawanda
    most of her life. She was a mem-
    ber of St. Francis Church, Ladies
    of Charity and the Altar Society
    of the church, Tonawnada Home
    Demonstration Day Unit, Ken-
    more Mercy and DeGraff Memo-
    rial Hospital Auxiliaries, St.
    Mary's of the Angels Aid Society
    and Wende Guild. She taught
    craft work to the Golden Age
    Club at the YWCA. She is sur-
    vived by her husband, Walter L.
    Berndt; three daughters, Miss
    Mary ann Berndt, Mrs. Charles
    (Eilene) Dalton of Tonawanda
    and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Papoi
    of North Tonawanda; one son,
    Walter W. Berndt of Tonawanda;
    four grandchildren, Deborah, Barbara
    and Judith Dalton, and Michael
    R. Papoi and one brother,
    George Groffenberger of Tonawanda.
    Friends may call at Hil-
    liard Funeral Home, 147 Delaware
    St., Tonawanda. Prayers will be
    said there Saturday at 9 a.m. and
    at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis
    Church. The Rev. Wilbur Yeager
    will officiate. Burial in Mt. Olivet
    Cemetery.

    A. C. Bruno Bemdt, 69 years old,
    died suddenly last night from a
    heart attack at his home, 7 Elmwood
    Park, South. Born in Germany
    he had* lived in Canada and
    America the past 50 years. He
    came to Tonawanda from Canada
    20 years ago. He was- a member
    of the High Street Baptist church
    Buffalo. He leaves a wife, Mary.
    L.; three sons, Arthur, R., Julius
    and Walter L., and five grandchildren,
    all of Tonawanda. Services
    will be held Wednesday 'afternoon
    at 2:30 o'clock from the
    residence. Rev. P. Geissler of
    Buffalo, will officiate. Burial will
    be in Acacia Park. Tonawanda
    Lodge, No. 247, F.&A.M., of which
    Mr. Bemdt was a member will 'be
    I in charge.

    of the First Church of Christ
    and its Community Class. Surviving
    art three sons, Arthur A.,

    Aerie, No. 1411, F. O. E. and the
    St, Francis church. Surviving are
    a wife, Anna, nee Lorich; a
    daughter, Mrs, Walter Berndt,
    two sons, Joseph W. and George
    J.; three brothers, Joseph, John
    W. and George, and seven grand-
    | children, all of Tonawanda. Rites
    will be heM Friday morning at
    8:30 from the residence and at
