    of injuries suffered in
    an accident while working,
    will be held at 1:30 p.m.
    T u e s d a y at the Gridley
    Funeral Home.
    The Rev. Evan J. Bartell,
    of St. P a u l ' s Evangelical
    Lutheran Church, will officiate.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home after 3 p.m.
    Sunday. A guard of honor,
    from Ft. Niagara will participate
    in funeral services -
    at Riverdale Cemetery.
    Mr. Berner wasN burned
    Dec. 14 while at work at the
    Union Carbide Metals Co.
    A native of the Town of
    Royalton, Mr. Berner moved
    to this city 40 years ago.
    A World War II veteran,
    he was a charter member
    of Gold Star Post' No. 6,
    Amvets, and a past vice
    commander of the post."He
    also was a member of Niagara
    Falls' Lodge No. 81,
    IOOF, the Oxcart S o c i al
    Club and the Carbide Good
    Fellows Club.
    Mr. Berner was burned
    when fine metal powder he
    was grinding caught fire.
    He suffered third-d e g r e e
    burns over 20 to 25 per cent
    of his body.
    Coroner F. Eugene Ingram
    is conducting an investigation.

    Lockport. May 8.-Albert Berner, the
    Stayton Settlement farmer who charges
    Fred Skinner of this city with eloping
    with his wife and the pair with stealing
    $280 of his money, has begun an action
    against Skinner for $10,000 damages for
    alienation of his wife's affections. He
    also had begun an action against his wife
    for an absolute divorce.
    Skinner and Mrs. Berner were brought

    ore Police Justice Stevens on the
    rand larceny charge. Mrs. Berner is a
    comely brunette of large build and comliag
    appearance. Skinner is a rathhmlgnincant
    appearing man. The Berters
    have five children. Two little girls,
    hue seven and another eleven were in
    court The latter testified that her moth-
    er went away with Skinner on the morn-
    ing of April 18th and the witness had not
    seen her until she reached the court
    room.
    Judge Stevens decided that there was

    not sufficient evidence to hold the parties
    on the charge of grand larceny and
    they were discharged. Berner has also
    begun another against his wife
    to recover the $280. The farm on which
    the Berners live is in Mrs. Berner's
    name and she claims she had a right
    to the money.

    Grassman Funeral To Be Held Tomorrow
    MIDDLEPORT, Aug. 11 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Grassman, 79, wife of August Grassman, Graham road, town of Royalton, who died Wednesday after a long illness will be held at 2:30 tomorrow in the home. Burial will be made in Mountain Ridge cemetery. Royalton, with the Rev Herman Ewald officiating. She leaves her husband, six daughters and one son, Mrs. Fred Dohring, Mrs. Edward Cook, Mrs. Willis Jackson and Miss Carrie Grassman of Royalton; Miss Helen Grassman and Leo R. Grassman of Lockport, and Mrs. Peter Mulsiner of Niagara Falls. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
